Where are you putting your mobile device?
I've owned my W205 for about 24 hours now and am realizing certain things that I took for granted when I owned my Audi S5. Like where am I supposed to put my iPhone while I'm driving?! I can lift the HUGE ashtray/cupholder compartment and put in there but I think it takes away from the single swooping look of the center console. So what are other owners doing with their phone? In the armrest?

haha good question! i have a note 4 with a case around it and it makes for a HUGE device. it doesnt fit in the cup holder. like you, i also dont like to leave the cupholder compartment open while i drive (unless theres obviously a cup in it) because i feel like it interrupts the smoothness of the center console. putting it in the arm rest is a pain because then i sometimes cant hear a notification or whatever.
the best place so far that i leave it is inside the little groove that is created when the thigh extender is fully extended. would love to hear more solutions though

For me, I put in the ashtray but I agree it takes away from the look..

I have an iPhone 6 and lay it flat in the ashtray compartment. I slide it back over the ashtray (coin collector ) and then slightly close the lid which then allows the phone to slide back fully against the back of the compartment. That allows me to use both cup holders and also allows me to close the lid.
I hope that description makes sense.

I need to have Siri read my txt messages! I can't get to her if she's locked away. I'd have to turn on disctronic to keep the car in the lane and reach in to the console to read them.

Maybe apple play ever comes out the in the glovebox solution will be more viable, using Command as the phone's interface. That said, I don't have a C300/450 so I'm not one to speak. I can completely get people not wanting it in the ashtray/cupholder for aesthetics.

I usually just keep my iPhone in my pocket. Most functions can be done via Bluetooth and this way I can easily activate Siri from my pocket if I need to use that. Would be nice if the car at least had Siri Eyes Free to activate Siri from the steering wheel if they are not going to give us Car Play. Even the behind-the-times-technology Lexus IS has Siri Eyes Free.

Since CarPlay is probably never going to come to the fruition, I need to have Siri read my messages. Now if siri is plugged in then she's listening so I wonder how well she listens from the armrest. lol

There is a map pocket in the door panel, if that's what you're referring to.

Had the same issue when I took my c400 home two weeks ago. I did not want to put my iPhone in the cup holder because the console is so much sleeker and more beautiful with the cover shut. So I purchased this holder...

I too wish Carplay was a go, maybe soon?? I won't hold my breath!!
I have a great iPhone 6 mount that fits to the interior with no holes drilled.
Its made by ClicOn.
i have an iPod touch 5th gen in the centre console for all my music and audiobooks plugged into the USB.
I do find though sometimes it doesn't like to connect and i get a message on the car screen telling me the attached device is not compatible with the system, so i un plug it, re plug it and it usually works.
also, where does everyone keep their coins?? there is no good place that is easy to get to.
Chris.

I keep it in my pocket...I get text messages and phone calls via the COMMAND system. I haven't found a need to have my phone out or mounted anywhere in the car...

I like CJW070's ClicOn Au (ProClip US) solution, no hole drilling, no window or air vent mount, and power to the iPhone holder but it's a little steep at over $100. Anyone else have other mounting idea to share? Currently I removed the cig box so there's rooms for my iPhone and USB power cable. I connect power to it via USB cable from a cig lighter adaptor; the console cover could be shut but not pretty once you open the lid.

I can't get the command system to show my messages. I don't condone texting while driving but with Disctronic, it sorta enables you to text if necessary.
