Just a little chilly this morning.

I'm sure the car will start just fine, even though it's in an unheated garage. I haven't gone out yet ..... I'll wait until it gets up to near zero F.

28 below zero Fahrenheit! Thankfully, the wind is calm this morning.

We are in the White Mountains, and two days ago a hiker decided to go climbing. Her body was recovered yesterday.

It was -14 F during my commute this morning. These temps are insane!

Noticed my car rode very harsh on the highway this morning. I wonder if these sub-zero temps make these run-flat tires ride harder.

I just realised -28F is actually -33C

What a misleading photo backdrop at that temperature the water should be frozen.
Well we hit that in Celsius so its good to know that the Great white north is so much warmer

Maybe the saying "cold enough to freeze to ***** off a brass monkey" should be changed to "cold enough to make a merc's seats bleed"
Sorry Stan.....couldn't help myself

The car did start up just fine, even in the extreme cold. Of course, later in the day, the keyless ignition didn't recognize the key fob again, but that's becoming routine. Sort of Keyless No Go ... a very entertaining feature.

It did warm up to about +15 F yesterday, and was only 5 below this morning, so I won't complain.

I don't even look at the back seats anymore. At some point I'll get it back to the dealer so they can complete the repair and install the missing parts, but right now I have front seats I can sit on, so no urgency. Who cares about rear seat passengers anyway?

That happened again to me yesterday as well and I'm happy to report that just hitting the open button on the fob allowed the engine to start without the key. Of course it's a bug that still needs fixing, but I'm going to wait until they have more knowledge on the issue.

I haven't tried that yet, but will the next time my Keyless No Go acts up again.

I think it also will be a clue in diagnosing the issue since the car seems to be confused about the door status. I noticed when clicking open that the dash lights immediately changed to something different than was displayed before clicking the fob.

I've been wondering the same thing as my car rides very hard too. I received delivery Dec 8 and so have not had an opportunity to drive the car in warm weather.

It takes several minutes of driving for the tires to warm up and reach normal operating pressures. Beyond that, even though the compounds used on the tires will be less flexible in the cold, there shouldn't be a huge affect on the ride quality unless it stays in the sub zero F range.

The W205, in any form, is simply not a soft riding car. All the suspension setups yield a fairly stiff ride and exhibit some harshness over bad pavement. From Luxury, to base, to Sport; the differences seem to be slightly less stiff, stiff, and stiffer. The diameter and profiles of the tires also contribute to this, with the larger low profile tires offering the least compliance.

The only way to get a really smooth ride is to ditch the run flat tires and opt for standard tires, since the RFT's contribute a lot to the less compliant ride of this car.

uhmm.. if they haven't fixed it by now....

find my posts about KG from 2013 in the W204 forum - this problem is not isolated to W205 - Benz has known about this for quite some time and not fixed it.

If it's any consolation it will probably begin working normally again sometime in April. For me it seemed temperature related - I bought my 2012 C300 in September 2012, KG problems started in late November, ended early April 2013. Then began again (and worse- would stop recognising key while car was going 65mph) in December 2013 and ended mid April 2014.

All the same symptoms, all maddenlngly intermittent. New batteries, new keys, new KG module, total of 7 attempts to fix at 2 dealers - no joy. On the assumption that it was low battery voltage in cold weather related they left my car outside in the cold for 2 days and nights hooked up to monitoring but couldn't find any issue (except the KG would not work every 2nd or 3rd try). At one point it seemed that the problem was isolated to a single key but then the "good" key started having the same issue. Benz could not solve.

That's very interesting. I had no problems at all with my car until December ... when the seats started bleeding and the KG started getting weird. I never even considered cold weather as a possible factor.

I wonder if this same issue is happening in warm climates as well. If it is, then something else is involved .... if not, it could very well be a temperature related problem.

BTW, as previously suggested, I hit the unlock button on my fob when the ignition didn't recognize it. Nothing happened at all, and I still had to start the car manually. That is a minor issue, but not so minor when the doors won't unlock. Hitting lock or unlock has had no effect on that either.
