Why don't you read the thread timeline before knee-jerkedly assuming why my car got brought up here.
Nowhere did I bring it up, until no less than 2 or 4 people brought it up and dragged it out, simply because it's what I drive. I have no intention of talking about a Porsche in this context in a C Class forum, and my original post didn't bait that at all.
And yes, the C will of course be a sales success, M-B will make sure of it no matter how much incentivizing and discounting they will have to employ. This is also a boon for the existence of the C450 for someone who likes the C but wants it to stand out a bit from the pack, yet can't or doesn't want to go full AMG.

I'll drop any further reference to it if you're willing to do the same.

I'm excited to drive the C450. Haven't really gone to an M-B dealer to really DRIVE a car.... in a while. The C450 sound right up my alley in what I'm into from cars right now.

K-A, now that you've gotten the Macan and has no interest in buying the C class, may I ask why you're still here constantly shoehorning the Macan into every comparison? I'm sure there are better outlets online for you to talk about your new car. You even mentioned the need to stay on topic yourself, so let's do just that.
Anyway, the C class seem to be a great success so far in sales:
C-Class and SUVs bring Mercedes-Benz record sales in February

As far as the C Class sales, February US sales is closing up with the 3 Series sales nicely.
If this trend holds or gets better, MB should take the US sales crown back from BMW easily.
BMW relies on 3 Series heavily, MB is more balanced, with CLA/GLA and SUVs helping out a big way.

[QUOTE=Jinzen;6355003]I don't know, I'm 27 and I have a C-Class. Next car will be E-Class, Panamera, Macan, F-Type...
I don't see older people in C-Classes around here...[/QUOT
You will see a 75 year old grandpa in a C450 as soon as I can order one.If you grew up inthe muscle car era and loved them the feeling never goes away.I still like high performance cars, but now with some luxury.

Having driven a brand new 15' C300 loaner for a few days, it is quite loaded with GPS, new interface, full seat adjustment, Burmester sound, pano roof...
The interior is a big step above the last gen C. Even the driving dynamics has improved a lot. When I was in the S+ Mode gave it full gas whether on the straight, or out of a corner, the car was well composed and even let out some nice exhaust pops, somethings I did not notice in the previous gen C loaners.
Even though I still can't wait to get back in my CLA45, I can certainly see the new C appeal to many drivers.
I can't imagine the C450 driving dynamics too different if the chassis is fundamentally the same (I know there are AMG bits), only more engine power added. Maybe the more aggressive exhaust note will do the trick.

The whole suspension is not 'exactly the same as the c63... ' Please cite your source

But the suspension is definitely NOT exactly the same as the C63.

The engineers have revised many technical features of the new AMG sports model. Their objective: a high level of authentic driving dynamics geared towards the Mercedes-AMG C63. To this end, a host of suspension components were adopted from the top-of-the-line V8 model. The driver also feels the DNA of the C63 in the application of the engine and transmission management. Agility and sportiness dominate the intense driving experience in the C450 AMG 4MATIC on every mile

They're putting enough high praise and promise on the "authentic" dynamics of the C450 in its seemingly raw way, that at this point, I'm expecting it to be very good. Driving a W205, it seems so hard to grasp how they can turn that chassis into anything resembling what the reports are stating from the C450, at least without a full AMG gut and re-treatment, but it'll be pretty shocking if it comes through the way it's supposed to. AMG are obviously the key to unlocking this from said chassis.
My only reservation becomes if it can maintain a tolerable ride. In my experiences, M-B are good at making cars either very soft, or very harsh over bumps. Audi have mastered doing both at the same time on their sedans, in comparison. So how AMG can match their newly injected dynamics into the W205 chassis with the inherent softness of said chassis with not sacrificing either too much, will be the true test. Sounds like they're up to it, but I haven't seem much mention about real world, urban city driving where ultimate comfort is tested (after all, it's a small luxury sedan).

The C450 will have electronically adjustable shocks via a switch in the cabin, according to MB it will be capable of long distance comfort on the softest setting.

I guess we just have to wait and see. I am assuming the whole suspension would need to be designed around the dampers and settings allowed + the AMG tuned 4matic. All said and done, I believe it will be a great package, I can't wait to order mine.

Electronically controlled dampers a nice, just be sure either lease the car, or sell it before warranty is over

The W204 with Advanced Agility Control had switchable magnetorheological shocks/dampers & they were trouble free.
