Oil Filter Location

Haven't had time to put our new C300 with turbo I4 on the rack yet. Can anyone tell me the location of the filter and wether it's a cartridge or cannister type of filter. Any info would be appreciated. Also does it require any type of special tools?

In front of the engine, slightly to the right in about the same height as the grill star
It is a cartridge type.

Is that the cast looking cap thats at an app. 45 degree angle? If so it looks like it might create a mess. Around here it appears that it is a dealer only part.

No special tools needed, loosen the lid and lift the assembly slightly up and let the oil drain into the oil filter housing, after a couple of minutes you can lift it without too much spillage.

Thanks alot for the info and pic. There's quite a bit of diff. in the under hood layout between the ones supplied here and yours but the engine appears to be identical. Even the engine cover is diff. on ours. You have to remove the cover to see the filter.

Vic, for a W205, do you need to remove the air intake hose in front of it to take out the filter? Thanks much,
