Placement of EZpass

Does anyone have an EZpass on windshield of their W205? I mean the white little box that sticks to your windshield. I am trying to find the best spot to place it so it won't look like a sore thumb but will still work.

I put mine next to the housing that holds the rearview mirror, so I can't see it from the driver's seat. I also bought one of those black plastic covers so that it is much less obvious from outside the car. Like this:

Amazon.com: EZ Stealth - Ultimate Black EZ Pass/FasTrak Toll Transponder Case, EZPASS, Bay Area FASTRAK (CA), I Pass Holder, I Tag Case, Smart Tag Holder, I Pass Case, EZ Pass Case, Fastlane Pass Holder, EZ-Pass / i-Zoom / i-Pass Electronic Toll Tag Case by C&S Euro Performance - EZ Stealth: Black: Automotive Amazon.com: EZ Stealth - Ultimate Black EZ Pass/FasTrak Toll Transponder Case, EZPASS, Bay Area FASTRAK (CA), I Pass Holder, I Tag Case, Smart Tag Holder, I Pass Case, EZ Pass Case, Fastlane Pass Holder, EZ-Pass / i-Zoom / i-Pass Electronic Toll Tag Case by C&S Euro Performance - EZ Stealth: Black: Automotive

I have the external EZ-Pass mounted to my front license plate. If you're concerned about theft, use the tamper resistant screws. I've used the external mount for years without a problem.

I had a transponder mounted on my front license plate on my E class but it broke so I am going to use the windshield mount.

When I got my EZ-Pass in Jan, it's a new form factor with a smaller (~50% less) foot print. I placed it below the radar on the passager side of the windshield which fits perfectly.

Thank you for the photo. It helps. I ordered the black cover that was suggested above.

Just a quick update: I ordered and just received one of the new smaller EZpass transponders as pictured above. It really is MUCH smaller than the old model. It was worth spending the $9. I just installed it as shown above and it looks fine to even without a cover. This forum has been very helpful to me. Thanks for all the good advice.

DRPA didn't charge me any extra for the smaller one; I think that's all they have. Glad it works out for you.

So you guys have no problems with the interior EZ-Pass? It works without a hitch? I ordered my EZ-pass and they sent me exterior one (which is large an bulky). Not sure why they did that unless they thought that the device won't work with the windshield (apparently tesla's have a big issue with this because of the UV coating on the windshield).

My understanding is that each customer chooses the type of transponder he or she desires.

Never an issue with mounting inside the windshield in last 10 cars. Didn't know there is exterior mounting too.
