AIRMATIC Agility Package?
Please help ...
I'm about to order a new C300 hybrid in AMG line Premium Plus ...
I'm ordering the amg line because I like the look of styling, but the garage are trying to suggest I should order the Airmatic Agility Package for a better ride.
Now I do like my comfort, but I also like a firm feeling in the corners. Does the amg sport suspension and the Airmatic Agility package compliment each other ... or are they trying to do opposite things?

Airmatic replaces the sport suspension here in the UK. Sport suspension, for me, was too hard, you could feel the bounce in the tiny sidewall tyres the suspension was so firm. I went AirMatic. Its due to arrive soon so I'll give feedback then. Airmatic alledgedly gives you comfort in normal/raised mode and stiffness in the sports modes. As there is no sway bar/anti roll bar in AirMatic suspension, there should be better control as the computers firm up specific dampers etc to stabilise the car on the move. I'm told its quite a different feeling but I've not heard anyone say its bad in any way.

I've ordered w205 as well couple of weeks ago with AMG Premier Plus but *without* AirMatic. Have been searching various forums and posting if I should add AirMatic. Seems within warranty it might be OK but after 3 years it might be costly if goes wrong.
I'm used to a w204 Sports ride so assuming w205 AMG would just about the same!

I will do a sort of write-up blog when I get mine next month. Honestly, I have no clue what to expect. Nobody has airmatic to test drive, and S class comparison is over the top, I don't expect it to be as good as the E/S class due to the shorter track, but it is quite praised.

Sounds very similar to the one i've ordered! Although i have ordered it in estate, I also have the 19" wheels, hope the ride isn't too firm. Although i'm used to BMW M Sport suspension so i imagine it will be fine.
July can't come quick enough!

c class 250 amg
After quite a lot of research and the fact i wanted 19s. I made the decision to order my new car with Airmatic. Problem was, i placed my order in June 2014 and my car will not arrive at the dealers until mid April.
Is that some sort of record.

Yeah, that's got to be a record, and here I am agonizing about waiting 4 weeks.

Given up on a S205 and ordered a S212
I considered ordering the airmatic but I'm buying this S205 outright, and tend to swap mine and the Mrs cars every 5 years, so a 10 year ownership is likely. Google told me potentially I would be likely pumping the £££'a in at some stage, versus £100 for a new coil spring. So I bottled it
However temptation keeps rearing its head, and I did enjoy the Citroen XM I had a long while back. But you know temptation eh?

S205 C250 Sport prem+ Airmatic / E220 CDI Coupe / Lexus RX400h
I've got an S205 C250 Sport Prem+ with airmatic. One word. Fantastic.
It's like, well, riding on air. It's so much better than my previous E220 coupe on the motorway and A-roads for comfort. In comfort mode (i.e not Sport or Sport+), it's even better than my wife's Lexus RX400h, even over speed bumps. There can be a bang when you hit big pot holes between 15-25mph, but i drove a steel-springed S205 C200 AMG Sport yesterday and it wasn't any better for role and had the same crash over pot holes as my Airmatic. Drive over the same hole at 50mph and it barely registers with the Airmatic.
As for stiff in corners, the airmatic in Sport mode is no worse than a steel sprung S205. But neither the W205/S205 in sport or AMG sport are as fun to drive as my E220 coupe was. But the E220 was jittery on A-roads and you felt every bump. I do a lot of motorway miles and town centre driving so comfort is my main requirement.
When deciding what to replace my E220 with last September, I drove the Audi & BMW competitors (no Lexus IS or Jaguar XE available), plus the current CLS250 and E250 saloon, and the C-Class beat them all for comfort, even on steel springs.
You can't compare the airmatic on a C-Class to an S-Class. I drove an S-Class last year for 120 miles on local roads and motorways. It's huge, the seats massive, you don't feel a bump when you hit a pot hole and its whisper quiet. But then its at least 2x more to buy and run!
I think the £700 for airmatic suspension is the best money I've ever spent. I'm glad I went for it rather than the HUD. I'm going to fit a towbar and cycle carrier so the self-levelling will be very useful, plus you can raise the ride height for extra ground clearance.
