Mbrace vrs. Mbrace Plus

How many of you have signed up for the Mbrace vrs. Mbrace Plus packages? We have the Mbrace Plus for 4 more days, trial period, and have never used it. The basic Mbrace is good for another 18 months. Is there really a need to keep either one? Just trying not to waste money if it's not needed.

I'm still in my trial period but I've already decided what services I intend to keep.

I'm keeping the mbrace base package for emergencies and the ability to use the phone app.

I'm dropping plus and MB apps. I just don't use the services.

The apps where I am at are brutally slow. I can see the value in the base mbrace package but not the plus.

I kept the basic MBrace package after the 6 month trial period, but dropped the Plus after the 3 months were up.

Please note that you must cancel MBrace Plus directly with them or it will automatically renew and be billed to your credit card.

The Internet connection is slow enough to border on the useless, and the apps aren't all that attractive or useful. My conclusion: not ready for prime time.

I did the exact same thing and totally agree with the uselessness of the internet speed. With a good 4G connection, I would have kept all three packages.

I personally don't believe mbrace or mbrace PLUS, let alone the slow Mercedes Benz apps, is worth it at all.

As long as I have SiriusXM radio, traffic, and weather (along with what else comes with the subscription), I'm all set.

My smart phone will take care of everything else.

Me 2

Internet is completely useless as one cannot even stream Pandora. I just play it from the phone over BT...
MB Apps in the package are a joke and too slow anyway

I think the value is in the MBrace basic package--vehicle tracking, remote unlocking, emergency notifications, sending directions to the nav from your smartphone/internet, etc. I plan on keeping MBrace basic after the trial runs out.

The three year deal runs around $600 so, for $200 per year, it's really not a bad deal and actually comes in less than the more limited OnStar package that GM offers.

Agreed! I have been doing all the features that mBrace Plus and Apps has on my iPhone for a few years now. No need to add more $$$ when you already have it at your finger tips

I'm going to finally sign up for my trial this week. Give a look. I don't see the value of the plus though. I can do all of that with my iPhone, but faster and with more options.

What's the number one feature of the standard mbrace account? I use the OBD2 port device from Automatic that connects to my phone. It'll call in an accident, it logs my miles, mpg, trips, etc automatically and interacts with IFTTT .. Granted I don't get send2benz or any of that, but I'd be interested in what others think is the best feature of the standard service package.

I'm interested in knowing how you like AUTOMATIC. I was looking at them this last week. I was especially impressed that it would talk to my NEST smart thermostat at home and you can set it up to turn on the AC or Heater when you are headed home... or you can set it up to turn itself off or down when you are leaving... all done with GPS I suspect.

I signed up for two years of MBrace and didn't realize it included Plus & Apps until I saw the $28/mo charge on my CC. I called and cancelled. It was painless and the folks there were very polite and accommodating.

In fact they told me if I ever needed Plus/Apps (say for a short trip) I could subscribe and then cancel at anytime thereafter and the charge would be prorated.

If you negotiate when you purchase or lease, they can include it. I got one year with both 'included' without extra charge. (Maybe a sign I paid too much)

Has anyone tried getting a vehicle discount on these services (ala the basic lojack) as the vehicle locator and tracking should provide a similar function.

Is Mbrace or Mbrace+ offered in Canada?

Is it available on Canadian cars when in the US?

I was charged $29 a couple of days ago and when I checked to see what it was it says MBRACE on it. Don't they usually call to see if you want to continue when the trial is about to end? I activated the trial on 3/26/15 and I was charged on 6/29/15.

Is the Mbrace trial only 3 months?

I got charged for something that I've never used YET
I like the app though, but not the MB apps that are on the car. They are very slow.

Did you call MB at 1-866-990-9007 to cancel prior to your free trial subscriptions ending for mbrace, mbrace PLUS, or MB Apps?

When I took delivery of my new 2015 C300, I was asked for a credit card number to activate the free trial subscriptions of mbrace, mbrace PLUS, and MB Apps...and I was told I had to call up and cancel prior to the free trial period or those subscriptions would automatically renew, and my credit card would be charged accordingly.

BTW, there's three subscriptions...(1) mbrace Package, (1) mbrace PLUS, and (3) Mercedes-Benz Apps.

Sounds like you only want mbrace Package.
