Wifi will be slow because its on a 3g data plan but from what I'm hearing its performs even slower than 3g should.

I do find the basic MBrace service to be of some value, and I did sign up for a three year subscription. The only part of the Plus plan I found interesting was the Internet Radio app. That was okay, but it took forever to connect and seems to be in direct competition with Sirius satellite radio ... which is included for 6 months and works just fine. I tried all the other apps and always lost patience waiting for them to initialize. Even if the connect speed was reasonable, I doubt there was much there worth paying for.
When it comes right down to it, how many more distractions do we need when we're driving? How about an app that keeps your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel?
The total response time is very slow, and they are very aware of the problem. I have no idea if they intend to improve this in the near future.

what our cars have, is simply a 3g connection provided by verizon.
it's a 128kb/s potential speed. real world would be close to 80~100kb/s. THIS IS PAINFULLY slow for today's internet.
back when phones only had 3g, remember how SIMPLE the mobile websites were. some didn't even have images.
now dial back to 2017 and check the mobile pages, there are tons of images nowadays. Considering that each image these days range from 500kb all the way to infiniti (depending on resolution and format of the image file), a 128kb per second connection does JACK *****.
all mercedes had to do is allow our cars to connect to our phone's 4g LTE connection via WIFI. this way, we would get 1000kb per second EASILY.
but mercedes did not implement this for cars sold in USA. it is available for european mercedes and even canadian mercedes. but not in the united states.
go figure..........
