Command Multi-Option Display
Once by accident I pressed a button (don't know which one) and it brought up a multi-option display on the screen (tel, nav, climate, etc) and each had its own icon. I suspect I could have selected any of them and gone to the options for that selection.
Problem is I can't replicate that screen. I'm sure it's something simple, but I can't find it.

Yes, the Favorites button brings up a display of all the basic functions so you can scroll to them rather than pressing their associated buttons.

And you can add more of your own favorites to the ones that are already there. So far I've just entered my home address for quick nav access.

I have posted "RTFM" many times and have had it posted in response to my own questions equally often. Now on my seventh Benz I've gotta say the manuals have always been a source of frustration. I was just looking at it for any mention of "tunnel mode", which, of course, there is none. So I found "Air-conditioning system" in the index where it says "see Climate control", then "Climate Control" directs me mostly to pages 124 and 125 where all the switches are simply identified and I'm directed to the "digital" manual. Needless to say, I've given up on tunnel mode.....
