You own a Vette and don't get the concept?
MB surely did not tune the C300 for max power and torque...more like for maximum noise reduction.

Reduction of back pressure on a turbo car is crucial and anything free flowing is going to make some power over factory exhaust.

I can tell you without a doubt that the exhaust adds "power" whether that's torque or HP, not sure, but it's noticeable.

Wouldn't have spent 7K just for looks.

I agree with the OP regarding the comments about price. I'm sure he is aware of how much it has cost and other alternatives for more power. More things come into play than just the cost.

Thanks for the pictures and letting us know the price - it will help other drivers make an informed decision about whether this mod is for us. Videos would be great too!

Looks great and guess what, if he didn't post the price this thread would be full of "how much how much how much"...smh.

Looks great, looking forward to a sound video once it breaks in OP!

It does look amazing, I hate the new style exhausts....even the new fake ones on the C63. A pity, really.

See I don't mind the stock ones. At least they are metal and not chromed plastic.

Looks good.

Brabus is expensive. He's paying a premium on the Brabus brand and nothing wrong with that if you can afford it. The 1500 labor tho > Bay Area shops would charge you at most 1g to do that work. Was this a custom shop familiar with brabus?

Having said that I prefer the AMG or Brabus quad trapezoid tips and would pay to make that custom modification work.

Hate to say it, but you did pay $7,000 mostly for looks...and increased noise level. That's what a "cat back" exhaust (CBE) gets most people...increased noise level (improved "performance" sound to most owners), maybe an increase of a couple HP, and usually lowered bottom end torque by a bit. Unless you have dyno results proving otherwise, you're just taking the word of the manufacturer. But I have to say that your new CBE and diffuser DOES look nice on your car...too much money for my blood though. IF I were looking for the best bang for the buck mod when it comes to increasing power, I would have bought some sort of "tune"...be it a reflash or "chip".

BTW, most of the restriction in a car's exhaust system comes from the down pipe/headers, and from the catalytic converter...not the rear mufflers.

So, back to ****ing cars. . . .yeah, it was worth it.

Thanks for your horrible input guys.
That looks awesome! Is there any way I can convert my exhaust to a quad exhaust without doing any type of performance modifications? I love the way it looks but don't want to spend the cash for a whole new exhaust. Let me know if there are any options to just achieve the look. Thanks!

Again, looks super badass!

Who cares how much he spends on parts, maybe he got them specifically because he knows how much they cost and knows nobody else will buy them, making him more "unique". Maybe his budget allows him to make such purchases and more. Bottom line is it looks good and he likes it!

@seanvree are you going to do anything else with your car? We could help figure out what you could do next with it, performance or otherwise.

The simplest way to do that is just get a 4 tip kit and go to an exhaust shop and have them cut and weld your current exhaust to it. You could also get an axleback which just has the muffler from behind the back wheels to the tip, or you can just get mufflers, those don't get "too" expensive depending on the brand.

We can definitely assist you in finding such products, if you'd like we can chat with you to find what you're looking for.

Looks great! Glad to hear you are happy!

As far as what you paid, I can tell all of you here that what you spend on your car is completely up to you. I have worked for Brabus for a combined amount of 10 years during my 25 year career and they are a premium brand, but you get what you pay for. The rear apron is made in Pu-Rim which is the same material as the factory MB bumpers, probably cost only $300-350 to paint, your body shop probably loved the fact that the part was easy to prep and paint, and was simple to install because it attached to the bumper perfectly. The exhaust I am sure was a 100% easy fit, factory hangers and positioned perfectly out the apron openings.

The sound and performance are for sure exactly what was described by Brabus, the HP gain probably comes on in the higher RPM over 3500>on, this is when the boost is running strong and gives the engine a little extra flow, not a huge amount, but enough that you can feel a difference.

All in all this is the first W205 here in the US that has a custom rear apron and exhaust, with no check engine light, no tacky universal parts added and a car that is still very much a Unique Mercedes-Benz, so having a car that is different from everyone else, no matter what you paid, as long as you enjoy it that is all that matters.

Thanks for choosing to be different, and thanks for choosing products that represent you get what you pay for!

Jim
