My new C300 has an annoying clicking sound that doesn't seem to go away. I thought maybe it was a new car and needed to break in but at 10k miles, it's still doing this. I took it to a dealer and they said the noise is expected because of the "high pressure injectors." I don't know much about cars but this noise is awful, it sounds even worse in person.


Any ideas?

Totally normal.

Direct injection (piezo electric) noise.

Go listen to any modern DI engines by any brand, BMW is just the same.

Sounds diesel like at idle , it's all about efficiency.
