Mercedes Switzerland have informed me that my car will now be delayed on delivery from end of July to end of August due to production being moved to South Africa

Has anyone else had this news recently on cars expected around July time?

yeah it is! I had grand plans for driving it back to the UK this summer but oh well.

When is yours due for delivery?

It will be with the dealers this week. Only trouble is we go on holiday next week! - Damn.

Oh well, something to look forward to.

Collected my 250 bluetec 4 matic estate today it was ordered early january in france and scheduled for delivery on 20th may. It arrived saturday 9th but we were away and could not take delivery. It has some extras, burmester and the 360 camera as well as hud and the driver assistance package. It was built in bremen and the dealer said all the sedans/saloons he is now getting are built in south africa but all 4matic estates are still bremen built. So i am lucky it was on time and it is german built, but south africa has an excellent reputation in jd power surveys.

Fit and finish seems very good but i have yet to really check it close up but so far i am very pleased......taking delivery was hard i am ok in my adopted home country language not fluent having distronic plus explained on the move in a foreign language was a protracted affair!
