On trips I would prefer to be able to lock and unlock the car using the key instead. For example if my wife leaves her key in the car at a rest stop what do I have to do so know one can unlock the car unless they have a key. Does removing the button disable these features. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks

You can turn off hands free access via the key fob (double click close). To disable keyless go simply remove the start button.
