BTW, were you able to simply "push" the wire into the A pillar rather than having to undo the pillar? And, I assume it was easy to tuck the wire into the overhead so that nothing showed?

Of course, there is another approach: Hook into a hot ignition dependent wire that is in the overhead console for an easier run of the wire. Only problem may be that the V-1's transformer, although relatively small, may not fit into the overhead space.

I tucked the wire into the A pillar and under the headliner without any trouble. Totally hidden.

Good news! That's the way I expected it could be done. Always nice to have an easy install...

I just wanted to share how I hardwired my C63S. Here are my pics. Thanks to all who previously posted and especially for the pic on how to remove the fuse panel cover by the door!!!

Nice job, clutch. But may I make a suggestion for your consideration. If you can place the V-1 on your visor, I believe it may not be so visible from the outside...and thus less of a temptation for a break-in. That is where I'm planning to put mine when I get my coupe. Presently, I have a V-1 placed in that position in my ATS and it can't be seen unless on goes right up to the windshield and looks in. The possible problem I can foresee is that there may be very little room between your head and the V-1...and you could find it annoying

I have my V1 placed exactly where...Mike Valentine himself has his placed. I've spent some time with him when we brought him in as a speaker to a BMW CCA event. If you place the V1 as you suggest, you would lose the utility of the visor. I'm not worried about theft. I'm more worried about the red arrow lights being seen from behind...from far away behind where someone can creep up on you. This is why i have the concealed display unit.

Having said that, my V1 goes off ALL THE TIME now. I even cancelled out the X band. There are sooooo many Audi's around here that the V1 gets tripped up by them all the time. [Please no fanboys commenting on how Escorts or other detectors are better yada yada yada. These get affected the same as the V1]. I've found the WAZE app better. However, once you drive onto less traveled roads, the V1 is still needed.

Agreed, the visor doesn't quite work right with my setup. And one would see the arrows from behind. But the unit is still very much concealed from any outside intruder.
