C Class safety systems

Hi,

Are there any safety features on the C class (I'm specifically going for the baby AMG, the C 450 AMG Sport) that would limit or cause issue to my usual habits?

For example, any automated braking when weaving in and out of traffic, coming within inches of cars before lane changes at high speeds? Or when tail gating someone that is going too slow?

I think the standard Collision Prevention Assist doesn't take control over the car, the car will warn you with beeping sound if the car thinks you will run into the car in front of you with your current speed. And I heard if you are going really really close, it'll apply partial braking, and if you step on the brake it'll apply 100% braking instantly.

With Driver Assistance Package I think the car does a lot more than the standard safety feature, including Active lane departure assist, active blind spot assist. etc.. instead of applying partial brake, I think it'll apply full brake for you if the car thinks you are about to crash.

It doesn't report reckless driving, so you're probably safe.

There is also a secret system that sort of takes over control of the car. Based on your driving habits, it self drives to the closest Police Station.

I must be leaving out some other favorite techniques, but I'm sure the OP can add a few more to feed this moronic post. On some level though, this is actually a very funny post ... I guess it just depends on how one looks at it.

I also split lanes on the highway, does the lane departure system do anything or blind spot.

Sure, there isn't much of an argument or a lack of seriousness in autonomous breaking.

But honestly, is there a reason for you to put a profile picture of your gluteus maximus?

Lol.... Didn't you know XPS that only the most serious of forum members use a picture of their bum (or someone else's) to signify the gravity with which their posts should be considered? They are known as the intelligarsi...

Brother owns a BMW 3 series and complains about that type of system. Said sometimes there's a false alarm or over exaggerated need to brake and the car unexpectedly slams on the brakes, causing near rear-end collisions for the person behind.
He said if someone cuts him off, even if they're going faster than him so there's no need to brake, the car will brake really hard and it's scary.
For this reason, I'm having second thoughts about these autonomous braking systems--especially in malfunction situations. I wouldn't mind beeping alerts, but for the car to brake for me, I'm not too sure. Should be a switch or setting to disable I'd assume...

Once again, you are in the wrong website. Polls show that only BMW drivers have the problems you describe. Go to http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/sh...-owners-jerks&
