... And the next build issue is..
While trying to solve a slight ticking issue from the pano roof (dirt on the mechanism just needed cleaning off) I started to look at the seals around the (s205) roof rails and it appears the passenger side seal has been fitted incorrectly. I suspect the seals clip into the rails before fitting using T shaped rubber extrusions on the seal that pop into suitable holes in the rail. One is not fitted into the rail and it's caused the seal to be out of alignment. I'm hoping the seal is just a drain runner rather than an actual seal as it's likely the rail will have to be removed (God knows what that would entail) to clip the seal back into place.
Its hard to show in a photo as I can't get close enough with the crappy phone camera but you can just make out the rubber tab on the photo that should be inside the rail. It results in the rubber seal not only looking wobbly up close, but also a gap between the rail and the seal right where the rail starts at the front of the car.. where it takes full force from weather. I wonder if this is what's causing the bit more wind noise I get on that side.

How the hell has this happened... from the factory or secret dent gremlins?

Do you happen to know how easy the seal fix on the roof rails might be? Are they easily removed or is it a headliner out job?

You can buy them on ebay ... looks like this:
Do a google on YouTube if you want to see how they work. Quick fix alternative is to ring a paintless dent repair guy and have it done. They shouldn't charge you much for a small ding like that.
