2015 MB C300 (W205) 1969 MB 280SL (W113)
New owner and a positive experience so far.

Ordered our C300 in March and took delivery the 1st week of June. It has been a while since I bought a Mercedes, 47 years to be exact and so far our experience with the car has been positive. Had the front tires rebalanced when I took it in to the dealer to have the front license plate holder put on and other then that, so far so good. No excessive wind noise to speak of either (we have a panorama roof). I guess my only "complaint" is the complexity of the Nav/Radio controls. The paper owners manual is also pretty vague so I downloaded the complete Owners and Command manuals from the MBUSA web site to my iPad.
I have attached a photo of our new C300 parked next to our "old" Mercedes, a 1969 280SL, Which i purchased back in Sept 1968. The car is all original (including the paint, interior and ST).

Hard to find a car that makes the W205 look bad, but wow, that SL is SWEET!

The overall operation of the COMAND interface can be just a bit daunting. Actually, it can be absolutely weird. A lot of it seems counter-intuitive and overly complex but, eventually, it does make sense in an odd Mercedesian sort of way. The online manuals are a must, as you know, since the printed ones are really lacking in detail when it comes to the electronics.

The easiest way to use the Nav is to rely on voice commands, which really are easy. You can also enter destinations from your smartphone with the free MB app.

Enjoy the new addition to your metal family!

Absolutely true. Once you learn the voice commands, the entire system is so much easier to use. Voice commands work much better than they do on our BMW.

Enjoy the car! Only being in my late 20's, I can't imagine how cool it must be to return to the brand. Do you have pics of your first MB?

Don't let some of the guys try and pigeon hole you into "positive" or "negative" experience folks. Most everyone has returned for questions or issues, and some do think that if there's an issue that they don't personally notice or care about, it doesn't exist. Most of the people here have good information and can separate their own perceptions and experiences from what 'is'. Enjoy the board, MORE importantly you car, and welcome!

Maybe, just maybe the "issue" doesn't exist on their car? So am I deaf because I don't hear the cricket chirp from the dash that others have threatened class action for? Or my eyes are playing tricks on me (they must be) because all of my LED handles still seem to light up? No steering wheel issue, no MB Tex issue (I have leather) no wind issue to speak of.

I was waiting to see how long it takes before first accusations of deafness and blindness resurface

I was 23 when I bought my 1st Mercedes (a 250SL which had an unfortunate run in with another vehicle on Sunset Blvd in So Cal when it was only 6 weeks old-other drivers fault). I traded it in on the 280SL the following year and a few weeks ago it turned 75k on the odometer. Now, when I get behind that very large steering wheel I am still only 24, in spirt anyway I did post a picture in my original post and have many more, including one taken on the showroom floor the night before delivery. I figure this is a W205 forum so i will try and stay on topic in the future.

Thanks to all who have welcomed me and my Mercedes'.

Doom and Gloom? What an asinine thing to say to a lot of folks who are having genuine issues with their vehicles. I am happy for those of you who got a decently assembled car but you could have a bit of sympathy for those of us who weren't so lucky.

Ouch--6 weeks in to wreck. Stay in your 20's in spirit! Your post is on topic to me, but I'm no moderator, and I think it's fine to come with issues, questions, interesting finds and such. As can see from replies already, there's some good and, not so good users of the forum and not matter what you post, will meet the same users with negativity and disrespect if you hear/feel/see something they don't.

That picture is super. I wouldn't let that first one ever go.

I don't see how a post of a positive experience is a soap box for people to complain about people 'being negative'.

All ya'll have had, or will have issues. And some just showing an inferiority complex about their senses of something they don't have/see/care about/whatever, especially when most have been on here questioning or complaining about something else with your cars!

Hard to believe anyone has a perfect car from the factory when they have to announce every chance they can and exaggerate other people's posts to calling them blind, mute and completely deaf, or that they're doom and gloom prophets now. And nobody here on the forum has a single thing to do with the making of the car, so nobody here deserves praise or punishment.

Welcome to the forum 49erPV. We need more people with 20 something spirit. Believe me!

dude. I fully appreciate what you say. what I don't appreciate are few people on these forum who try to rubbish the entire product line just because they have had an issue with their car or bad experience with customer service and unfortunately there is quite a few of them on these board
