Flat tire: replace both or just 1?

I got a flat on my front driver's side tire. The dealer recommended to just change out the flat tire.

But arent you supposed to change both tires? Otherwise one will be bigger than the other and the car might pull left or right?

def don't need to change both, unless the other one already needs changing

just change the one, unless you have significant mileage on the car.

First check your owner's manual. Next, you are writing about a C-Class sold in the U.S. This means you have all-wheel drive. So see Tirerack.com, "Shaving Tire Treads to Maintain Equivalent Tread Depths for Four-Wheel Drive & All-Wheel Drive Vehicles" http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete...jsp?techid=259. You can't have had your C-Class very long. So your tires may not be worn enough for you to require tire shaving.

Many repair shops have no problem with Tire Tire shipping to them, for their installation. Mine actually suggested it and encouraged me to do so. Even a dealer might do it if you need a service (such as shaving) that they don't provide. Or you can find a shop that will do it on the Tire Rack website.

Tire Rack takes about 10 days to ship to locations in the Northeast, maybe more to the West Coast.. If you can't wait or for some other reason don't want to buy from Tire Rack, there may full-service tire shops in your area that will shave tires. Tire Rack itself says that their service is mostly for competition tires. So you might try speed shops or competition services.

Depends on your drive system, they have to replace and shave, or replace them all unfortunately. Are you replacing with same tire?

I ordered a spare tire from Tirerack on a Friday and received it on the next Monday. I guess time of delivery depends on where they ship it from.
The spare was ordered as an insurance policy. I also ordered a tire depth gauge; I believe most car manufacturers recommend (with all wheel drive) no more than a 2-4 mm difference in depth. Check the exact recommended difference, my memory might be faulty.
I have a Slime 70005 Safety Spair 7-Minute Flat Tire Repair System from my old Infiniti G35 tha I also carry in the car. On top of all the above I also carry a tire plug repair kit.

I carry a Continental pump and goo injector. I read all the consumer review online that I could find. The Continental was the only one that got consistently good reviews. Some of the others got reviews like, "Failed on first use," etc. I have used it as a pump to top off tires. It works well. The screw-on air hose is much better than a clamp-on hose.

I noticed on tire rack there are no performance all season run flat options for our cars. id like to get rid of the "grand touring all season" when the time comes
