Flat tire: replace both or just 1?
I got a flat on my front driver's side tire. The dealer recommended to just change out the flat tire.
But arent you supposed to change both tires? Otherwise one will be bigger than the other and the car might pull left or right?

Shaving Tire Treads
Many repair shops have no problem with Tire Tire shipping to them, for their installation. Mine actually suggested it and encouraged me to do so. Even a dealer might do it if you need a service (such as shaving) that they don't provide. Or you can find a shop that will do it on the Tire Rack website.
Tire Rack takes about 10 days to ship to locations in the Northeast, maybe more to the West Coast.. If you can't wait or for some other reason don't want to buy from Tire Rack, there may full-service tire shops in your area that will shave tires. Tire Rack itself says that their service is mostly for competition tires. So you might try speed shops or competition services.

I ordered a spare tire from Tirerack on a Friday and received it on the next Monday. I guess time of delivery depends on where they ship it from.
The spare was ordered as an insurance policy. I also ordered a tire depth gauge; I believe most car manufacturers recommend (with all wheel drive) no more than a 2-4 mm difference in depth. Check the exact recommended difference, my memory might be faulty.
I have a Slime 70005 Safety Spair 7-Minute Flat Tire Repair System from my old Infiniti G35 tha I also carry in the car. On top of all the above I also carry a tire plug repair kit.

I noticed on tire rack there are no performance all season run flat options for our cars. id like to get rid of the "grand touring all season" when the time comes
