Collapsible storage container?
I got my C300 with the Canadian version of the Premium Package on it about 4 weeks ago. However, due to business travel I have only spent about a week driving it unfortunately. I was at a store the other day and thought, I'll just lift the trunk floor and use the collapsible plastic storage box for the groceries! Well, I lifted the cover and no storage box ![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
I have seen this grey plastic collapsible storage container in several online images and had convinced myself that it should be there! The salesman has now told me that they are supplying this with the CLA and GLA cars, but not with the C Class. Seems a bit strange to me as the floor cut out is also there.
Can any other Canadian owners confirm or deny that this should be supplied with the car?
Anyway it is no big deal really, but it would have been useful. Otherwise the car is just as I hoped or even better.

Thanks for the replies from everyone, Canadians and all ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
I kinda thought I smelled
from the sales guy's email. I am going to chase a bit further now.
As for the $465 option that a poster mentioned above, I think that is the rather neat drawer assembly that mounts under the top of the trunk. When the boot lid is open you pull out the drawer and then push down on an assembly that opens up into a storage box.
Thanks again.

Sounds like it's time to find another dealership.
Really? You bought a $50,000 vehicle from them, and they couldn't supply you with a $25 accessory that should have come with it to begin with?

I agree with what you say Vic. However, I don't want to dis them too badly as on the whole they have been pretty good over the past 8 years that I have dealt with them.
In this case though it ticks me off a little because I think the sales guy is just not wanting to spent the time asking about whether it should be there and hopes that I will simply accept his explanation - and go away. Which of course I won't, and I will be writing a polite note to the sales manager who I also know.
In general this garage has been good as I say.
When I picked up my current C300 which is a black ex-demo car, I noticed some small scratches on the front plastic fascia and a few paint swirls. They had no hesitation to send it to a body shop for repair. Of course it would have been better if they had noticed this themselves and dealt with it before I noticed. But, overall I was pleased with the response. No excuses, just apologies. They also let me trade my 4 year old winter tyre package for the new one that came with the demo car when they got it - for $1000 Canadain. Not too bad either.
The one big miss that they had was not fitting the coolant cap back onto my 2007 Smart Car, which of course overheated on the way home![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
Anyway next step is the sales manager.

You're right about the way it makes them look. $50k vs $21.14 for the plastic bin.
As I said, I don't think the salesman thought about how it would look to the customer.

Well, thanks to everyone here that answered my original question. One very small victory for the power of the mbworld forums ![Stick Out Tongue](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
I wrote to the sales manager and mentioned the replies that I got here confirming that the car should have come with the storage crate. He sent the original salesman out on a safari into the new car lot and found out what we had always known here - that the car should have had one in the first place!
I expect that as it was a demonstrator, the original got swiped or misplaced.
Anyway, I picked the new one (straight from the parts department) up this afternoon, and now my C300 is complete haha
Thanks again
