Cracked Windshield - C400

Cracked Windshield - C400
Windshield got hit with a rock the other day and yesterday it splintered to a 6 inch crack. Called Mercedes to see if they could get an OEM glass or recommend a company. She stated that Mercedes has not started producing them and she is unsure when the US will get them....grrrreat.... 
At this point, Safelite seems like my only local fix. Called them and they said they can get one. It'll only cost me $100 after my insurance. Is this a stupid move? I heard from the Mercedes rep that the windshield "may" need to be programmed for park assist and other amenities. She didn't seem sure, but is this true? Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Sorry about your windshield! All my cars. except the SL, have had to get them replaced at one time or another and just a perk for living in the country I guess.
Let us know after you get it replaced. Looks to be a real job seeing as how the windshield is surrounded by plastic/rubber trim some of which extends back over the sides of the roof.
