I've been lurking on this forum for a couple months and the advice I've read here has been invaluable, so thanks to you all that post.

I'm looking to place an order for a MY16 C300 Sport. I'm in Northern CA and have spoken to several dealers in that area as well as southern CA. It seems they are not very willing to negotiate price or offer discounts. The best I've been told so far is 10% off MSRP. Most will easily do 5% off.

Has anyone ordered a MY16 and received a good discount? Any advice for negotiating a better price?

If you can get 10% off MSRP, that's not bad at all. Mercedes is not known for massive discounts and why should they anyway. It's not like they're having issues selling the new C Class.

I've ordered a MY2016 with just about every option except Distronic and 4 Matic (I live in Florida and really don't need all wheel drive) and the sticker price is going to be close to $54K. However, my dealer doesn't negotiate the out the door price until the car arrives.

Personally, I'll be pretty happy with 10% off MSRP.

Thank you rbrylaw. It looks like we are getting similarly equipped cars (I don't need all wheel drive either). The dealerships here seem to want the price locked before they place the order.

I agree 10% is a decent discount. Given all I have read here, I am just curious if anyone is seeing the 12-15% discounts people were getting for MY2015.

if you contact them and ask for Carlos, tell him Hoodean referred you. not sure what his sale discount is but he got me a killer lease deal

I ordered my MY15 a couple months ago (and just took delivery this week). I got ~8% off w/o too much effort. In the first quarter(second?) of the year MB corporate (US?) was offering a $2000 dealer incentive that was generally being passed on to the buyer which resulted in better discounts. I think the C-class is selling better now so it hasn't been renewed.

FWIW, I found https://www.truecar.com/ helpful. You can get pricing data w/o buying the car though them and it doesn't cost anything.

I've purchased umpteen MB cars from this dealer, so I don't even have to put a deposit down to place the order. Maybe in my case, this is why we don't do any negotiation until the car arrives and they pretty much know how much off, I'm going to expect anyway.

I'll look forward to seeing pics and your thoughts when you get yours. I'm going from a 2012 E 350 Coupe, to the C300. Only the coupe is leased and I'm buying the C300 outright when it comes.
