Lumbar support
Mercedes should offer these features (along with the soft-close doors of the BMW 5-series). (On the 5-series, a motor slowly pulls a door shut when it has not been closed fully.)
I must admit that each time I got out of the car the higher part of my back was aching as the top of the seat back was pushing into me, and it was impossible to find a comfortable position.
That car has now gone back, as it was a free hire car whilst my current car was being repaired.
I'm with you, thank God I've gone for the lumbar seating.
For example, you, HorshamRebel, might be very interested to know that the same tilting seat I described also has a seat back with a separate angle for the top of the seat. It can be adjusted to give more less support for your shoulders. It was helpful for me, even though I do not have a bad back. I know that there are also seats with adjustable lateral support. This might be helpful to some who suffer when they have to use their back muscles to brace against swaying side-to-side. I do not recall if the BMW I drove had it, but if any maker would have it, it would be BMW. If you got across to M-B that you just test-drove a BMW, and much as you love M-B, your next car is going to be BMW because of the seats alone, I'm sure M-B would listen. If you started a new thread on how the seats of different makes work for people with bad backs, I'm sure M-B would REALLY listen up!
