Why would you want to cover your beautiful open pore wood with plastic imitation carbon fiber?
The linden wood is high gloss and coated with clear plastic. I would think this could be wrapped easily. The black ash is open pore and would be more of a concern. I have the linden and I'm wondering if I wrapped it with a clear protection I could prevent scratches and swirlmarks....
Hi. You inspiret me so i wrap my centre console too
I agree, you must have lot of time and patiente. It takes me 9hour! But now im satisfacted.
My brother is in love and ask me for wraping his car, i say him "no ****ing way" ;D

I'm having trouble taking the first peice off (the silver peice) I used a plastic flat head but feel some resistance do you have any guidance or a pic of what the bottom of the silver peice looks like.
Hey,
I recently got a C43 AMG but it came with the piano black console -- I was thinking of replacing it with original OEM black ash wood trim from MB, but it's looking like it's gonna cost a fortune... $2000~ with install, and they can't even guarantee that it'll work 100%. So, I'm debating on getting it wrapped instead... but worried about it looking cheesy... any of you guys that have done it.. are you 100% satisfied with how this turned out and do you feel like it looks legit?

Too many headaches with the swap and pricey indeed. I would personally wrap in a matte finish like a gun metal grey or black. I'll offer up this link to another member in the C43 section and the extensive work he's done.

That silver/white CF look goes so well with the rest of the cabin. Solid work man!
Wondering what both of you did about the AMG badging on the flap that reveils the cupholders etc?
EDIT: God damn it. Just now seeing that the badging of course wouldn't have been there from the beginning. Any ideas how to go about wrapping that part with AMG badge?
Hi. You made a great job of yours so I’m goi g to do mine too. Got the console off with no problem although it’s a bit tight to work on with the connectors. I have one problem and maybe you can help. There is one tiny connector, looks like a very small printed circuit board and for the life of me I can’t see where I it goes back. Any clues would be of great help. Thanks
Hello,
Thank you for the detailed explanation! I just wrapped my 2015 c300 console, but I cannot for the life of me take off the decorative lid from the storage compartment. Is there anyone out there who can guide me further?
"Open the lid and look under need you will see a ridge under the lid itself...get a flat head screw driver and gentley push in and pry the lid up with a small amount of pressure the lid pops off and slides free.... Easy!
Decided to jump on the wrap bandwagon and did mine last night. I chose the 3M 1080 Matte Deep Black wrap, which I think is a bit more unusual. Think it turned out pretty good and looks way better than the piano black finish I have, which I was never a fan of to begin with...
Thanks for the great write-up. It always feels better to know the scope of the mayhem you may be inflicting on your $50k car before jumping into it...
That's fantastic and a great solution. If there was something one could about the buttons around the Comand controls so they don't show finger prints so easily!
Wow looks so slick and classy. Very clean as well. Great job! Question - did you wrap the ac vents separately or in one flow? Also, how do you get the corners so clean? I always end up bunching it up, especially when it is a circle with spokes that I am dealing with - think of the MB Star on the grill.
Thank you for the guide Bj71

I did mine a few months ago and am having minor issues with bubbling/scrunching in areas where I stretched the wrap the most to make smooth corners. It's on the top of the console above the vents where the display covers it to where it's not very noticeable, but also the front corners of the lid to the cup holder compartment. Any ideas or suggestions on how to avoid this in the future?
Also, my touch pad seems to have gone dead and I don't think I forgot to plug something back in. Rotary dial works as normal. Does anybody know how to reactivate it?

Without doing anything to disturb my console my touchpad also went dead. The dealership determined it needed replacing (under warranty).
Make absolutely sure there are no signs of coffee spills etc in the seam running around the touchpad module or the buttons as this will invalidate the warranty. I didn't have this issue but watched the tech carefully examining the area for signs of any liquid spills.
