Pano Sunroof Screen Malfunction

Pano Sunroof Screen Malfunction
So today was a hot day. Got into the car and went to open sunroof and the screened pulled back and made a horrible crunching noise. Went I went to close it the passanger's side of the screen was off its tracks with the metal that runs in the grove sticking out and all bent. Have a service appointment but was wondering if anyone else has experienced. I don't usually open the screen in the daytime wondering if it's a heat related malfunction.
This is the third glitch with the car (less and 2K miles)-- the glove box handle broke mid opening and the review camera had to be replaced.

Yep! Welcome to my world!
I too had three problems pre 2-k miles and this one was the most fun! Driving around in the hot sun without a shade....
I finally took it in for service about a month back, took them about a week to get the parts since this is a "first" for them (I assume the dealer, not MB)...
There have been a few people on this forum with this exact problem which leads me to believe it is a design issue. Mine also crunched itself on a hot day. I have since taped razor-sharp spikes on that button to remind myself to never open it again.

I hadn't seen the posts from others about the crunching in the heat. I have opened it before on a hot day without a problem but it was certainly a hot day today. All of the other issues have also taken a week or more and in all cases I was told it's because of a shortage of parts (including a headlight replacement as a result of an accident).

I have had this too. It was an unusually hot day and the whole thing got stuck. It took the dealer a week to get me an appointment to fix it. I was not in a hurry. And then they took 2 weeks to return the car. Seems to be working fine for now. Will see next summer.
