Repair Costs
When everything is working, I love Mercedes cars. I have had three MB cars, and unfortunately they seem to break a lot. When my neighbor said his old Toyota van had 150,000 miles and he never had a single repair, I was secretly jealous. I have spent a small fortune repairing mine. In the 15 years I owned my 2000 E-class, I spent $20,000 in repairs. Only 66,000 miles - you do the math.
Here is a funny video about this. Some things in the video really hit close to home for me:

MBWorld Fanatic!
OMG...if I had to listen to that guys voice everyday, I'd kill myself! He also sounds like the unofficial spokesperson for extended warranties!
A lot of manufacturers make vehicles these days that have multiple computer systems, have brake systems designed that way, and I know for a fact BMW had that same window system on their frame-less doors as well (2010 328i coupe). And as for reliability, my old 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee for instance was in the shop multiple times just for computer reflashes, so it's definitely not just a Mercedes thing...although I'm sure Mercedes costs for part & labor are more than Chrysler's.
Fortunately for me I can afford to buy a new car every 3 or 4 years, and would never dream of keeping a vehicle made these days past it's warranty.
