What is an order guide?

It's from an internal MB system, which outlines the options for the model year.

Yes, the guide will differ between countries. The guide I have is the North American guide.

At this point, most MB websites have been updated with the current packages and options available for the Model Year 2016 C Class. Though the MBUSA site is still messed up.

Yes, MBUSA site is quite confusing. I went to check how much is NAV and if it is a standalone option, I could not find this option!

If you want Nav, the best option is to get the Multi-Media package. If you don't get that and you opt for the base system, you can add a Garmin system, but from what I've read, most who have it, wish they had just spent the money on the Multi-Media system, which includes some other nice options.

I just watched a YouTube on this Garmin Map Pilot and it looked great. I am not sure what is the difference in functionality between the NAV and this Garmin apps.

Unfortunately, I could not find Garmin Map Pilot option in MB Canada site.

Whether it's available in Canada, I don't know. If all you want is a nav system, I'm sure the Garmin Map Pilot is fine. But there are so many other options included in Command that I simply wouldn't consider not having it:

Rearview camera
COMAND hard-drive navigation with 8.4-inch screen
3 years of navigation map updatesVoice control
SiriusXM Traffic and Weather with 3 years of service
10GB Music Register
Gracenote media database

Plus voice activation built into Command

Thanks for the clarification. I did not know about the features of Command. One thing I read was the 8.4 inch info screen is a lot better than the 7 inch.

One unrelated question. Is there a way to display SMS from my cellphone to this info screen?

With command, yes, yes there is!

I guess the phone communicates with the command via Bluetooth.

Just recently, I asked because just recently they jacked up the traffic fine of texting and driving to $495CAN and 3 demerit points. Mm

There's no price you can put on safety.

Just do yourself a favor and get Command.

A couple of clarifications about Canadian packaging.

Garmin isn't available in Canada (I asked). Unfortunately 3 years of Nav updates and 3 years of SiriusXM Traffic and Weather aren't part of the Canadian package. Not sure about Gracenote (I don't have it, so I doubt its there).

Interesting. I guess we should get a bit more in the US, since we pay so much more for the cars here.
