My wipers had been chattering excessively ever since I applied aquapel to my windshield. I even tried acetone to remove the treatment with little if any success. The chattering was so severe than the wipers would only half wipe every few strokes, it was driving me insane. Well, I finally bit the bullet pulled out the orbital buffer and the glass polishing compound. Result was perfect. Completely silent wipers that work perfectly. For those with chattering wipers, take a look at the wet windshield, if water is beading on it, it has some kind of treatment, simply remove it with glass polishing compound and enjoy the quietness


BTW don't be afraid of using Aquapel anywhere else, it works fabulously. Mercedes wipers simply don't work with at all, however, all other glass surfaces including the pano roof love it. I applied it over 6 mths ago and, as my wipers can attest, it was still on there with full effectiveness.

Cool! Mine drive me bonkers! I don't own an orbital buffer but I'm pretty sure I would get the same results with good ole fashion elbow grease. My other issue is when I put the wipers at high speed it sounds like the metal bracket is tapping against the windshield during upswipe. So all I hear is click, click, click, click, click, click.

I used mineral spirits to remove the crap on the window and have not had a problem since

Check the plastic cover where the wiper arm attaches to the motor. it could be loose.
