c300 Luxo is here
Well, I undertook a 300 mile trip yesterday to pick up my C300 (as you can see from the pics it is finally at my home
Fortunately my dealership was great and they took their time to walk me through all features/functions, and consequently I was able to enjoy my trip back as well test various things built in the car.
As I started my trip, few items annoyed me, steering assist to begin with, command center seemed weird, but was I a fool ... soon things started to click and I could say wow, that is so cool.
#1. Command Center: I feel its a work of a genius. Straining your arm to click menus on a touch screen now felt so un-ergonomic. Command center dial and knobs located right where you rest your arms are so very convenient, they make the concept of steering mounted controls feel old.
#2. Driver Assistance package stuff: It is wicked cQQl and pure addictive . With the exception of steering assist (that only helps you about 50% of times when lanes are marked perfectly or there is a car ahead of you), the distronics plus and active lane assist is awesome that it makes you multi-task (my bad
I do have to say that with so much cool stuff already built into the car, now I miss the multimedia package.
#3. Burmester: Being an audioholic and always wanting more in a car audio, I would say Burmester audio is pretty darn good. Listening to good classical music on burmester, while watching the Luxo's star-crest hood emblem makes you wanting to bath in music. I do now lust for the Burmester 3D that for now comes only in the S-class ... maybe I'll be tempted to sell my c300 in a year or so and go for the s550.
All-in-all, C300 seems a FANTASTIC vehicle, I dont think anyone can go wrong with buying it. Interior is immaculately crafted, exterior is simply gorgeous. I am sure all others waiting for their c300 Luxo or Sports, are going to be equally thrilled, this is a really all-around nice car, way beyond its price competition.

Looks great...enjoy it!! After some miles and different roads with lane keeping, you'll unconsciously learn when and how it's going to react, kinda like walking a dog, it predictably steers certain ways in certain conditions, but overall is amazing technology. The future of it is obvious.
You're probably aware, but if the small steering wheel marking on the dash isn't green, it's not seeing the lanes. No other indication. Often keeping the dash on 'driver assist' is helpful to see what it's seeing. In Florida, it doesn't always see concrete highways with black lines as we have in some areas.

thank you rbrylaw and floridadriver. I actually didn't realize the 'green' steering assist indicator until this morning after reading your post. The car does has a learning curve, but it is worth knowing all the features, as these are not the typical lame stuff throbbed into modern vehicles coming out of factory these days. One has to admit, (and not to kiss up to the MB brand) but they have done some great quality work here (i feel like Apple did with iphone).

If I remember correctly, you may have asked this question in another thread. If I'm wrong, my apologies, but I'm going to give the same answer I did in that thread.
I don't like the look of chrome wheels and don't think they'll look nice on your car. But if you like the look, it's your car and you should do what you want regardless of what we think.

yea no, the grill looks way better now that it used to on the luxos
wheels are so small, im so used to seeing the 19's, they would look amazing on this car in silver.
but it's a great looking car/color/house combo. dont chrome the wheels!

alright, no chroming, agreed ... I'm glad I didn't already ship them out to CA for chrome plating. I was actually supposed to get the newer silver ones, though sadly MB had imposed a run-out for 2015 grey wheels, i.e till the older ones sell out, MB will continue to equip 2016's with them ...
