Retrofit Intelligent led headlights

I have a static led headlights and I was wondering if I can retrofit the intelligent led headlights?

Is it just plug and play?
Or I need to get it coded? And is the headlights button the same?

Thank you

Of course you can but youll need,

New front wiring harness
New front SAM module
MFK-module
New windscreen (depending on current options)

Several hours of installing and coding.

EQC 4matic AMG line Premium Plus replacing S213 220d 4matic with airmatic
One of my ils headlight units has been pushed slightly out of line at the back where it meets the front wing, about 1mm, enough to see, following a recent collision with a deer. I am not sure if the 821 euro repair quote incs its realignment there being no mention of lights on the quote. As expected the centre grills are cracked and need replacement. Overall parts and labour are reasonable but it mounts up! Anyway my question is can the unit be simply pushed back into place or will it need checking for alignment as well? If it can simply be pushed back i may try myself given i forgot to point it out to the garage assessor today and will probably forget again next week when it goes in for repair!

You seem to have sufficient knowledge vic viper, maybe you can help me?

Got a 2013 CLS with Intellegent headlights. I bought 2015 facelift intelligent headlights which have 2 less pins than the older ones. Mercedes want nothing to do with it as they say it is not an official retrofit however an independent technician said they would need online SRN coding to make the fully functional (currently the only function I can get from them is the White DRL which will only illuminate instead of the orange indicator). Will I be able to code these in directly or will I need a new SAM module? The new DRLs in the headlight unit are meant to start blue when you unlock the car, then fade to white and then flash orange when the indicator is active, unlike the 2013. Please advice.

Thank a mill

I'm doing it. But it ain't pretty. People always look for plug n play. But there can be no such thing when these 2 weren't made for interchange. Expect serious modification, guys.

Don't you think you can buy the wire harness and other parts to make it plug n play? It may cost double or tripple of the cost, but it may be worth it considering all the work

It's not about the cost. It's about whether the car can support it. For one thing, there's no wire harness that you can buy. You're thinking in term of plug and play again. You want to buy a harness that you can just plug in and everything will magically work. But nobody makes that harness that you can buy. And even if you can buy one, the car would not support it. Everything is controlled by software, and if ILS didn't exist before, how in the world does the car know what to do with the new headlight you just plug in. No dealer would touch it. Without the dealer, how do you get the software updated? That's why I had to go my route. To make intelligent headlights dumb again

Besides programming, there gotta be wire harness that should make the "installation" part plug n play. But the programming might be a whole different thing. I would really like to figure out how to retro fit the ILS the proper way.

I recommend actually reading Huyuci's thread just so you can see how difficult it is https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w205/575333-c300-eye-surgery-transplant.html he's the only person who's made it this far so take his word for it.

Long story short: Get the car with the packages you want, nothing is plug and play on these cars.

Hi,
I wanted to give it a try with used once. This is what is needed. A guy in Germany is doing that. It is in German though.
Besides the Headlights, you need a Switch (100€), DavikoKabel(180€) and the Levelsensor/s.

Isn't it against logic? I mean if you know all the parts and know what you're doing, you wouldn't need a tutorial, right? 'Cause I for one can't get anything out of that so-called "tutorial".

Yea, partly (if there is a word like this). For example I didn't knew were the the level sensors are attached. Those pictures helped me a lot. The cabels from Davikabel come with instructions. Anyways will see how it goes. May be I'm wrong

I am sure if you have questions about the installation and ask the guy, he is willing to help.
