Well it not just the color, the OE red calipers are only fitted on the C63, thus you will get the much larger AMG brakes for seven grand, rotors included.
So service guys at my dealer said lots of customers had painted their callipers red, either themselves or by another company and brought their cars back because the paint came off. Some even demanded warranty fixes!
I mentioned who I would use and he said they are good.
Has anyone painted the calipers on their c450 yet? I'm going to do mine next week but I'm on the fence with color. Red always looks good (with black AMG logos), but I'm thinking about going metallic gold with mine, like the GTs carbon ceramic calipers.
My only concern is how the rear calipers look painted. They're really nothing special on these cars. Does anyone have a good pic of their rear painted calipers?

The stock C450 calipers come painted silver with the MB logo. Here's a pic of ours.
The 450 calipers are solid aluminum and they are not painted, just roughly anodized and will deteriorate over time.
Remove them and paint them pforessionally to keep them up to par.
My car is a 180 but there are many amg sport package 180s with bigger rotors. Bigger rotors cover the backplate behind rotors and looks better. But they seem like they are made for 18" wheels because the caliper doesn't look its going to fit to 17" wheels.
Yes the C180 with sport has bigger rotors than a C180 without sport package, but a C180 sport also has the smallest cross drilled rotors and those brakes will work with 16" wheels. look at my post above.
Sorry for some kind of necroposting, I have 2015 220d without sport package, and front calipers are very small (almost similar as rear ones), also I'm not completely happy with braking (I change front discs and pads recently at mb dealer). Can I put calipers (and disc/pads of course) from 220d with sport package without changing other parts? For example, can I order this from ebay, disc and pads and install on my car without spacers, just "plug&play"?
