Sluggish standard COMAND system

For those of you who have the standard 7 in. display, have you also noticed that when using COMAND that it's not always smooth? Like when I turn the controller left/right to go through the circular options list on any given screen it will stutter sometimes and such?

What gives? That's unacceptable in a Benz.

I'm also wondering if the upgraded screen/system that comes with the Multimedia pkg has that issue, or if it has a different processor or other components which cure the issue?

I have the 7" comand screen, and I would say the Comand Controller is my favorite feature of C300. On my 2016 the standard COMAND system is remarkably flawless, and just a superb work performed by Mercedes. As for any lag, I haven't noticed, maybe there is a teeny bit (if one wants to be perfectionist), though it would be incomplete to not say, that if comparing it to Apples iphone or iPad (if iPhone iPad is assigned an 8/10, MB's Comand is really 9/10), its truly remarkable, at least on my 16 C300.

In the UK at least the standard system is not COMAND. It's a basic display with Garmin Nav and a few car controls.

COMAND is actually an upgrade and comes with a much nicer screen. It wasn't an expensive addition and I had to have it on mine.

I've got the 2015 W205 US without the full comand system. I think it's called Audio 20 or something like that.

I do notice some of the screens move slow and when I first connect my iPhone via USB that it will take 10 seconds or so to activate.

I joke with my friends that they're using an Intel 8088 processor to run this system...LOL.

I also expected better speeds and processing on the screen, but it is very usable...just slowish.

Well, the COMAND system is utter crap compared to iOS. Slow, unintuitive, hard to find options, and very buggy. My job is designing software systems and I'd never put my name to COMAND.

Yours must be a lemon, because what you describe is totally different from my experience on the 2016 COMAND system that comes standard in the US, I hope you get yours fixed.

Oh, it's not broken. It's the top end COMAND Online Multimedia one as well. It's just very poorly designed.

I have the garmin version and it is slooooooooooooooow. The media interface is painful to use and recently hasn't even been responding to the clickwheel. Re-mapping a route takes FOREVER. VERY disappointing.

I have no clue. It was flashed in June by the dealer. The software was so bad the track pad would stick. Turned out to just be software. It is slow, relatively speaking, as computers and navs go, and I have the bigger multimedia package. I had an E class loaner with an older system that was faster but graphically inferior. I doubt the CPU and graphics processing units are really up to the task. I have the multimedia package.

I have an appointment on 10/21 to get mine checked out. My car was delivered June 12th so i'm not sure which software version I have but i'm hoping they can resolve this issue and reflash the ECU to make my 1-2 shift smoother. My system stopped responding to the click/selector wheel the other day for a good 30 seconds and i've noticed again that when you press the "NAVI" button there's a solid 6-7 second delay before the screen even comes on. This just isn't right.

I would describe mine exactly the same and it must been normal or common enough as I have been in two other W205s also with MM package with the same issue. If iOS was a 10/10 for seamless motion (which it virtually is) I would give COMAND a 5/10 especially with its unintuitive gestures. Even with that said, it is still a very major improvement over the W204 though.
