If you are looking to tune your new Mercedes AMG C450 or GLE450 Coupe to be even faster than it was, VR Tuned has got you covered. Coming from the factory with 362 horsepower, the V6 twin turbocharged engine is a monster. Our Tuning Box kits have been proven on many Mercedes vehicles including our own Project CLA45, Project 991 Turbo, and a handful of other cars here at Vivid Racing. The advantage of a tuning box over a ECU flash is ease of installation, warranty friendly, and it really puts the power to a new level. The tuning box harness is a plug and play to the OEM sensors including manifold pressure, boost pressure, cam sensor, and fuel rail pressure to deliver a wicked extra 76 horsepower and 97 NM of torque as tested on 98 octane in the UK. Of course with the dial adjustment on the back as seen here, these work fine for both 91 and 93 octane North America vehicles too. This power increase puts the AMG 450 at 438 bhp which is still shy of its big brother, the 4.0L C63 turbo at 500+ horsepower. But take our word for it, your 450 will be no slouch. Huge improvement in torque and horsepower from the custom tuned map that is loaded to the tuning box. Need to go in for warranty, just unplug the box or remove the harness.
Edit: I see now gains were on 98 octane, so assuming those of us are using 93 octane, what kind of numbers can we expect? C450 here

On another note, the dial on the back changes how it delivers the boost based on octane. Obviously the car retains all factory knock sensors so there is no way you can have an engine failure. Its changed in a safe manner.

Good afternoon everyone,
Just wanted to update you on my experience with Vivid Racing and the C450 tune that they have available. I have a full review available Here however the kit is definitely worth the money and I can confirm that as long as you install it right you will not trip any sensors in your car. One thing to note is to wait the full 5 minutes when switching from the tune to the bypass or your will trip some sensors and cause your check engine light to come on.
The new Mercedes C450 AMG packs a punch with its 3.0L turbocharged engine producing 362bhp and 480nm of torque. We released our ECU Tuning Box kit which takes it up 80bhp and 100nm of torque over stock! But as all customers say, “show me the proof!” The dyno done at Corr Performance is on a Dyno Dynamics AWD dynamometer. We rate the tuning box gains at 80bhp. Typical drive train loss is about 20-25% for AWD. At 20% this would put the wheel horsepower gains at around 60 horsepower. As noted on the product this is using higher 98 octane in the UK. This car was tested in Lousiana, USA and most likely had 93octane pump fuel. Its peak all wheel horsepower gains were at 40awhp. Several variables can account for different dyno readings such as air temperature and especially fans creating a driving like scenario for the intercooler and air intake system. Our customer who operates C450AMG.com recently purchased one and did an independent review on the product. His full review includes the benefits of the driving performance, what to look out for when installing, and his end result of this purchase. From his review, he writes:
“In terms of performance the dyno results are in and three things are prevalent. First, it looks like the Tune learns from itself, providing better results the more you run it. I ran it on the dyno 3 times and each provided better results. I plan on running it one more time next week to see if i get even more out of the car. The second is that the internal stats lie… Meaning the numbers shown on the digital display differ the results of the dyno not a huge surprise here, but the digital display actually performed worse with the tune on which was surprising. The third is that the tune actually provides some incredible numbers below are the videos of the digital display as well as well as the dyno results.”

The GTS is there high performance exhaust system and the GTC is the same exhaust but includes a valvtronic system that allows you to open and close the valves.
