When to drain your new engine ?
Hi Guys,
I received my first MB on March, a C400 4M (6cyl. 3.0L) that is now 14’500Km.
As I’m not at all a pro in mechanics, I would need an advice from you guys.
I’m wondering if I should make a first drain at 15’000Km and in few months the next scheduled one at 25’000Km.
If yes, and if anybody here is used of the Swiss prices for such an intervention, may I ask you to give me an idea of is cost (as it’s out of scheduled intervention, and doesn^t therefore enter into the MSI+ plan) ?

Actually yes the Assist Plus informs you on the next Service to do.
But the first Service is recommended by the Assyst Plus after 25K Km, or 1 year.
From my experience, it's far to long. At least for the first drain, it's recommended to make it earlier as the engine is new and as suffered more friction during first Kms than then normally.

You may want to look around this forum for similar discussions. Per inputs from other more informed members, the current C does not recommend early first drain due to break-in engine with the same oil. I was going to do an early drain too until I read on this forum.
