Can you change the Parktronic sounds
I'm wondering if the Parktronic sounds can be changed similar to a Lexus where it automatically is audible when it gets close to something and gets louder as you get closer. I find the Mercedes, the visual shows you are getting closer, but you can't tell if it is front or back and there is only one warning when you get real close. It should get louder as you get closer...can this be changed?

vic is referring to what you can do with diagnosis tools, you cannot change anything from the car menus.
If I remember right, the pitch can be different for the front from the rear, one may then figure out if the tone is from the rear or the front sensors.
The MB approach is to count on the visual indicators which you can see all the time front and rear (rear from the rear view mirror) and the warning tone is only when you are too close or about too close. The approach other brands have chosen may have merits but most drivers (and passengers) start to get annoyed eventually. Think about the car on red lights and pedestrians walking close to the hood (perhaps a European scenario but should occur in the US too), do you really want to listen to that alerting sound all the time.

Yeah I don't think there is anything. Fine for the front end (although my steering wheel location makes the visual hard to see when the wheel is turned) but back end there should be beeping when in reverse because you don't have the same issue with people passing by (and if they are passing by it SHOULD beep). Seems like you can get pretty damned close to stuff before it beeps, and I'm guessing if you aren't aware of what is happening by the time it makes a noise it will be way too late to do anything about it.
Another little thing that wasn't thought out particularly well by the MB tech folks.

Sorry if I was unclear, you need Xentry to alter these values.
I have to agree with the new poor placement of the front display in the IC, for us tall people the steering wheel blocks the indicator as mvw mentioned.
I miss the old placement on top of the dash.

Hello.
When I had my e class at my last service/maintenance, i asked for the possibility to change the parktronic to make sound earlier than before.
As normal it makes the sound when it cames to the "red area", now after the change, the parktronic make sounds already att the first yellow point, that makes a big different and I am very satisfied.
But I only changed it in the back, beacause in the front it would probably made sounds every time I stop att traffic lights when people walking near by the front.
The cost was about 24 euros/ (25 dollar)
