Creating folders in music register?

Anyone have any luck creating music folders in the media register? I'm dumping some old CDs in and have noticed that the car seems to relieve me of the burden of deciding on a folder structure:

-For audio CDs, it automatically creates a new folder (I can put it inside another folder, but it will just create a new folder inside the existing one).
-For MP3 CDs, it just dumps all the songs into whatever folder I select- I can't get it to create a new folder.

I'd like to get to choose to create a new folder, or dump them in an existing one, depending on my preference. Is there a way to do that? The COMAND manual isn't really helpful.

Does it work differently if I put the MP3s onto a USB drive and do it that way? I was hoping to eliminate the middle man and just go straight from old CDs.

(In the spirit of Thanksgiving - if this is the big issue in my life, I'm probably doing OK...)

I put all my songs on a USB drive or SD card organized in folders, and then copied them to the music register. It copied all the folders.

Thanks - I'll give that a shot...
