Electric boot opening failed
Hi, my C220 boot lid opening has failed, it's electric but won't go up or down, the handle or key fob just realise the lock and the lid opens about 6 inch's and then stops. I can lift it manually and shut it manually. Has anyone seen this before?

I hAve a similar issue with my key, but only if I do a quick press and release of the trunk button. If I hold the trunk button it opens fully. Same thing with the cabin trunk release button.

I know the boot mechanism has an obstacle detection system that will ensure the boot lid will only open as far as it can without hitting anything.
It could be this that has an issue, if you are not holding your hand above the boot lid when you open it (making it think there's an obstacle there)

Did you check the settings of the vehicle? If you press the button with a car icon and then go to vehicle settings. There is an option to set the boot to open halfway. Maybe it is turned ON which should be OFF so the boot opens all way.
Also, if you open the boot with the key, make sure you press and hold the button till the boot is fully open.
