Tyres? Booming/hum sound -250 diesel
My 250 C W205 Estate (Wagon) is fitted with Goodyear Efficient Grip tyres. I'm getting a constant droning/booming/ hum that varies slightly with road surfaces. The noise is only really audible from the driver's seat (right side in the UK). The MB dealer reckons that it's road noise as they've checked wheel bearings, drive shafts etc. The tyres have been switched front to back but no difference in the noise. The tyres have only done 10k and show no unusual wear.
I'd be very grateful for suggestions and/or comments.

Perhaps 10K is too much? Personally, I only managed around 5K (in Kilometers) on summer run flats. I had my winter tires (also run flats) in November 2015 - so far they've been excellent, tried them today in the wet, mud and snow combo).
My setup (for reference):
SUMMER: CONTINENTAL CONTISPORTCONTACT 5 SSR
WINTER: PIRELLI SOTTOZERO 3
Both on the same set of wheels (18" AMG) - very happy with the experience.
In April/May 2016, I plan to have a fresh summer set fitted (I'm not fitting the old ones) - unnecessary (I know), just picky.
Curious to understand when did your issue start (at 8K for instance)? What has changed since (weather conditions, ...)? Why don't you ask the dealer to 1) test another set of rubber , or 2) test another car with the same setup?

EQC 4matic AMG line Premium Plus replacing S213 220d 4matic with airmatic
I have noticed that my winter tyres have a distinct hum at 125km to 133km (have not been above those speeds) on one of the motorways I use. The hum was less noticeable on another motorway which has a new black tar surface which is very smooth. Gives a wonderful ride with the airmatic suspension. Below 125km there is no difference between the 2 tyres.
My summer tyres are hankook ventus evo2 mo and do not display the same hum although they seem very soft as over 10k km they are down to 5mm. The winters are michelin alpin 5 but despite being supplied by my mercedes dealer they are not mo. Car is also a 250d diesel but with 4matic. 17 inch wheels.
Wonder if trying different tyres might be worth investigating to eliminate them as the source. Are your tyres mo?
