18 inch Low profile wheels - Should I get tire insurance?
I haven't owned a car with larger wheels before. I also live in NJ for context. Anybody with experience with the 18" wheels in terms of likelihood of bending/cracking the wheel? Do you really have to hit the pothole hard?
How much is the cost of new tires if MB is installing them? $400? $500?
Also how expensive is it to fix curb rash? Is it worth the $400 extra for the cosmetic package?
I have until the end of today to decide apparently. Thanks for your help.

I have 19" wheels and didn't get the insurance. I've whacked a couple of unexpected potholes and had no issues.
If you do get it, make sure you read the fine print on what it does or doesn't cover.

I've had a tire blow out and cosmetic damage to the wheel (separate incidents). Both were repaired/replaced under the tire and wheel policy. The tire replacement was worth about $450. The wheel repair was about $200. I have the 19" wheels. It's very important to read the policy and understand exactly what you a purchasing. Know the policy exclusions.

I had damage to both right side wheels after hitting a pothole. My regular car insurance covered the damage/replacement costs less my deductible.
