REVIEW: RaceChip Ultimate Connect (on C250 Bluetec)

Hi,
I've seen that episode and that kind of box is a cheap box and that connects to some strange places... These actual boxes are different, what they do is a man in the middle attack. this means it will connect to the common-rail and boost sensor ()in some versions of the box and dependent on the car too) and the read value are processed real-time and altered by the box. That value then goes to the ECU. This means the ECU is tricked,. The ECU sees that the requested value has not been get then it sends new info to common-fail (and turbo) in order to cope the requested demand. If you push too high the power delivered from the box and if that change the values that sent to ECU are too high/low for the ECU table, then the ECU will enter in protective mode thinking that there are som engine problem, because it's getting a very different values than expected. So, the ECU is always in control and the box will never damage directly the car. Of course, using a box or a remapped the wear always increase, but with a box or with a reputable tuning remapper they will be minimum.

Racechip issues
hi Guys,
i have a w205 c250 bluetec AMG lone. I’ve had the racechip in the car for nearly six months. The other day, I was on the freeway and I happened to accelerate real quick and the engine light came up. Upon checking with the diagnostic tool, it was the dpf with soot accumulation.
When my mechanic checked the car, he found that the racechip was sending false signals to the O2 sensors instead of the EGR, and this was causing a richer fuel burn, which caused the dpf to clog. Luckily a dpf flush and the removal of the racechip avoided an expensive particulate filter replacement!
