C450 scratch

Hey guys, picked up my C450 on friday and yesterday I had a small collision in the parking lot. Attached is an image of what occurred. I'm thinking of buying some Polar White touch-up paint to try and fix it but I'm led to believe it's too big for that. Input?

Also, my car has like 70 miles on it and I drive it S+ a lot, am I not supposed to?

You can see that the bumper is out of alignment, remove it check for damages and paint it professionally.

you think there could be any further damage to the car? The bumper is in fact not aligned but I just think that it pushed that side of the bumper backwards a little bit, due to the angle of the impact.

Too many to list
That's one heck of an incident. I would take it to a professional.

I'll do that. Do you think there is any more damage than the scratches, given that the bumper got pushed a bit back and is not aligned?

Tough to say but I suspect some clips will need to be replaced. You just got the car get it done professionally. Maybe consider your insurance if you want to go that route. How the heck did that happen? Also there is a break in period that is written in the manual, don't rev the h3ll out of the engine basically.

I don't rev it up too much, I just like the more sporty, responsive handling. Basically I was pulling into a parking spot and it was way too tight and my seat was too low, and I don't have the visibility that the ML350 I drive has so it really is taking me a while to get used to. It's stupid I know, but it happens

I take it that you were ignoring the audio and visual alarms from the parking sensors?

I don't have the park assist pkg. it only gives me a rear view camera, and I was in drive I was not reversing.

OK, didn't know that. In the UK only the base model doesn't have sensors as standard kit.

If it were me...I would be talking to my insurance agent. It appears the entire bumper will need to be removed to inspect for hidden damage and then repainted. This could be a pretty expensive repair.

I have seen several similar impacts and in almost all cases the bumper was damaged in the joint between bumper and fender

Actually, all clips seem to be in place. One of the clips near the impact zone seems to be strained, so I think removing the bumper and putting it back on should be fine. I don't see any further damage, but then again there might be something hidden that I can only see when I take it off though. I'm pretty confident though that it's nothing

Touch up paint ain't gonna fix that. Take her to a body and paint shop. If your car is polar white it will be an easy match. Would be a lot trickier with the designo white.

I KNOW!! I almost bought the designo white, thank god I didn't. Yeah I'm taking it to a body shop but to repaint it, I just didn't want to replace the clips or the bumper, and I'm glad everything else is in place and just the painting will need to be done.

Would take and have professionally fixed. They will pull bumper off car and inspect for damage and reinstall it with proper alignment.

Sounds good, I'm gonna take it to the dealership. I'm not running it through insurance because I think all I need is the paint and to reinstall it with proper alignment as stated by Jeff.
The other car got just some of my paint on his, and a dent with two scratches, nothing too bad but still worse than me as I didn't go through any denting.

The other owner didn't want your insurance to pay for his/her damage?

He did, we did all the insurance stuff and my insurance covers his damages and I don't have to pay anything. I have to pay the deductible only for my damages for my car, but since I think my car's repair will be less than my deductible I don't even think it's worth filing a claim with them, so I didn't.

i understand. i just got out of a parking space on the street, the car is beeping, (probably too close to the car in front of me). i just ignore the beeping cus i know i have enough space to get out. The car got out fine but now i think about it, that is a stupid move. i should have back up to get some spaces then get out.

Yeah, it's not worth the risks. If something happens to your car you pay lots of money and you don't have the car for a while. It's a pain. What truly pisses me off is how I paid 70k USD on a car that does not even have parking sensors!! My MY2013 C180 I had in Brazil had that for the love of g-d. I picked this car off of the inventory, if not I would have gotten the park assist. Regrets regrets

I can't imagine that being less than $1000 to properly repair.

You're kidding. My salesperson from MB told me he was 100% it might not even be half of my deductible (1000). I'll get quotes in, and if it's too much I can take it through insurance
