Chrome Window Surround Removal
Hi all! here!
Has anyone tried/been successful with or know how to remove the chrome window surround from the car?
I would like to remove it to wrap it in gloss black (no night package in the UK!! )
I know its possible to wrap whilst on the car, but if a jobs worth doing, it is worth doing properly!
Cheers all!

I feel you buddy. I am also thinking of wrapping my front lip in gloss black but was contemplating on whether I shall get the lip removed to get em installed. Don't want it to look funny a couple of months after getting it wrapped.

I imagine the window surround is quite easy to remove, as with the front lip, but I would hate to be in the position where easy to remove also means broken and a trip to the dealers...

Hi all, also UK based and at the fact night package is not available. What a silly decision (aren't the cars built in the same factory!) I will be plasti dipping my windows surrounds, but would prefer to do so off the car.

There has to be a way, but I just don't want to go all gung ho and have to limp into the dealers or buy new surrounds! I know wrapping/plasti-dipping on the car is possible, but removal would just make it so much easier!

Amen. We are in the same boat haha. I am also going to be changing my front grill to a diamond grill. But most likely will be having MB do that for me. Removal of the chrome surrounds is probably the extent to which my handy skills will go haha.

From my experience wrapping my whole car, the driver's side for some reason is the hardest to remove. It's very easy to break/bend. So I ended up leaving them on. So, my 2 cents is to wrap while they're on the car. There's so much risk.
