AMG C63 (non-S) pricing help

I'm interested in a 2016 AMG c63 (non-S). The only problem is there's none in stock in all of California. I've never custom ordered a car before so I had a few questions. Do I bargain beforehand and sign a contract? Or is it done after the car arrives?

The other problem is there's very little out there on what people are paying for a 2016 AMG c63. What should I be aiming for? I'm hoping to get a bare bone (zero options) one for 60k before taxes. Does that sound remotely possible?

If anyone in the SoCal area knows of a good place to start, please let me know.

Hey tam099,

I've been shopping around myself, just put an order for an S. I'd be happy to connect you to my sales rep I ended up going with in SoCal.

Not sure about $60k though - you're asking for a $6k discount on a car that has not as much margin as say a C63 AMG S (with options).

I'd say more reasonable on the base model $66,175 that you get about $2k off tops.

This is a hard car to bargain for. Not a lot of margin for the dealer. They will be happy to order you a car. You will want to set the price before it comes so there are no surprises once it gets here.

When I placed the order for my 450, they just wanted a $1000 deposit. I had brought in a print out of the TrueCar value which showed a savings of $3000 and they said that they would honor that but nothing has been set in stone for pricing yet. I just got word this past week that my car will be here by the end of the month/early April, so I'm guessing I will have to come in and set a price before that.

It's a night and day difference on a C450 order vs. a C63 AMG (S or Non-S). A year ago, I was told I could get only $2k off. A month ago, I was quoted $9k off a custom order. Those variations don't happy on AMG's, especially not the "lower-tier" where the margin is a lot lower like dieseldoc said.
