Parktronic Beep When Reverse ?
I know that my car beep when I move forward close to an object (usually when I am at the red bar indicator or close to it ?) but I have never heard it beep when I am backing up. Is it suppose to? Or maybe I am not close enough when I am backing toward a wall. Of course, I can see the wall through the back up camera but I don't dare getting close enough to find out just in case I "ooops".
So is it suppose to beep or not when reverse ?

The beep comes when contact is imminent which is way too late IMHO. Volvo integration of feedback from parking sensors is much better in this regard.

There is an indication on the rear backup screen of all four sensors at the corners. It does not show how close you are, simply that you are close to something. The detail is shown on the indicator that you see in your rear view but at least there is something on the backup screen...

Yeah as you guys mentioned, it MAY beep at CRITICAL distance but I don't think I am brave enough to try. I may try with a standup cardboard or with the hand over the sensor but not my cinder block wall.

The only thing, in this area, that a fault MB for is the poor way they implemented the audio alert. Tones should start out slowly, with different pitch for front/back, and then increase in frequency as you near an object. Instead, all you get is a beep followed by contact.....boom!
