2015 to 2016 models difference?!
Hey guys I really need your support because I am kinda confused. Last year I had two different w205 C300's not even with the Sport package or anything and every time I was driving in Sport+ mode I had a nice popping noise coming from the exhaust that I really enjoyed driving. So 3 days ago I picked up my 2016 C300 4Matic almost fully loaded with the Sport package 19inch AMG wheels and so on.. But for some reason whenever I put it in Sport+ mode it doesn't give me the popping noise anymore and it really bothers me. I can also tell the software is different on the dashboard than it was last year. Why did they change that? Was it not healthy for the Turbo>? Is there a way you can get it back I am just wondering what happened I mean their hast to be a reason they changed it and it just kinda bothers me because it made it feel way more sporty.
Maybe someone has an solution thank you,
Marius!!

This issue has been extensively discussed in C300 in Sport+ Mode Almost Undriveable, beginning with the comment by topsider on 03-08-2016. You are correct that the burps were engineered in for 2015 (and to that extent, they were bogus). For MY 2016, they are engineered out.

I think that pop is from unburnt fuel being combusted in the exhuast so you're getting a slight increase in MPG from it not popping? I liked the pop too on my 2015 test drive and never heard it on my 2016 C300.
Another difference is the 5 years free MBrace on the 2016s

Bogus would be piping in the sounds through your audio system.

I don't understand this idea that the pops are bogus or fake because they are programmed into the EFI. Of course they were programmed in. Why do you consider this bogus? Because they are intentional? Is it only genuine in your opinion if it's the remnant fuel from a carburetor that dribbles into the exhaust system?
