End of MY16?
For models that are continuing unchanged, I do not know. If you are interested in a model that is not changing, why would it matter which year you get? You wouldn't likely get any better discount if special ordering a late 2016 car versus an early 2017.
Most important, they are changing the colors around. With Palladium silver, and maybe steel gray being dropped in 2017, if I had my heart set on those colors I'd be sure to get my order in before the 2016 orders ended. On the other hand, if I wanted selenite or brilliant blue, I'd wait.
Looking at the coupe order guide, the 2017 also changes package options around with prior standalone options being packaged into new premium packages. This could significantly increase the cost of the car if you had previously wanted to get an option separately. (i.e. the intelligent LED option in 2017 requires distronic, so a $1k option becomes a $4k option if you did not wwant distronic.
There may also be new options added to 2017 that are desirable (like the 360 camera in 2016, or 5 year embrace).
Hopefully Mercedes will have a fully updated order guide before the end date for orders, so that people can be fully informed as to whether they want to rush in a 2016 order, or wait for 2017.

Though, it's kind of the way BMW and Audi do things too, have everything bundled up in big packages. Makes it easier on production. MB was kind of the odd duck out to have everything a la carte anyway.

I guess you're moving over then, because it looks like that's where they're going with the 2017 guide.

That's too bad...for the 340i at least I'm glad BMW still has most of it's options a la carte. For instance, the upgrade in lights is not bundled with their version of "distronic". I'm happy about that because I definitely want the upgraded active LED headlights, but I definitely DON'T want any thing like Distronic.
