By chance, I saw this commercial on YouTube a while ago. While I think the idea is unique, I was a little annoyed by the way she said it. It's a Hyundai for God's sake. But then it just hit me. Our Benz don't have it. And that is not cool. So my mod brain kicked in..... :-) Coming soon to a w205 near you.

 

My W205 C300 welcomes me every time I get in it unfortunately...with a loud stupid "DING" when I open the door.

I've seen LED door lights that with multiple versions of Mercedes emblems on eBay for about $20...plug & play too.

 

If my W205 starts blinking & say "Master, please turn me on" ... I am gonna sell it and go back to Bimmer.

 

I've seen those MB puddle lights as an option on the GLE but eBay as others have said sell it too. Euro spec C Class has a different welcome home feature that involves the DRL lighting blue then white but we get shafted out of it because America thinks all new technology is inherently dangerous and if the car lights up blue when it first turns on it may cause the downfall of our country.

 

No. But it thanks me on the 16th of every month when payment is due!

 

Sure; my W205 welcomes me with it's sexy blue eyes which slowly turn white. It's also done a nice job of illuminating all the snow (aka ice) on the ground around the car, via the mirror 'puddle-lights'

 

My car gives me a hug when I put the seat belts on.

 

Yeah, I'm aware of the one that installs under the door and lights up when you open the door. But I want to move it to the side mirror so that when I press the key fob to unlock the car, it will do the same thing as that Genesis.

 

i just wish the illuminated star blinks when i unlock the car.

Also when i wish it turns on with the DRLs. such a shame that you can only see this at night. too pretty..............my precious........

 

It can be done, if you hot wire it.

It's done. Not completely what I envisioned, but due to the angle of the mirror, this is the best I could do.

 

Hmmm, I have a mate with a GLE and the logo looks vastly superior to that....

 

Doesn't look so hot...definitely looks aftermarket. Too much of the Mercedes symbol gets blocked by the door.

I like the under door LEDs better.

 

There's always a hot cup of coffee waiting for me in the cupholder. I do have the Beverage Assist option though.

 

Definitely not something I would be interested in.

 

My car never welcomes me. It's always angry and grawls as soon as I want it to go. I feel so cheated. I want a happy nice car. Corp buy back...

 

My car seems indifferent to my arrival, but I do get a nice letter from Mercedes Benz Financial Services each month. Just a friendly "hello".

Having said that, any effort and willingness to modify any part of the car takes courage!

 

it's not the greatest, but for me, I still think it's better than the regular led. I don't like the one under the door because it would only show for 1-2 seconds max. This, I can turn it on from a distance and it'd be there greeting me till I come in the car.
