LT Front window regulator is broken, what's next?
Hi,
I'm new to this forum and I live in a country where the Mercedes has few garages about 7 that can fix it apart from the dealer.
The Problem is:
The driver's window has stopped working and I went to electrician where he removed the door's plastic and showed me the wire is coiled and tight so he cut it to close the window and told me to buy the whole set including the rails on both sides.
My question is can I only get the wire changed without buying the rails on sides??
Thank you

No you usually cannot repair the window regulator, regardless of the make of the vehicle. I have had these fail before. The last time was on an F150 crew cab truck. You will have to purchase a new regulator. A competent window glass repair shop can install this for you. That's what I did when mine failed. I ordered an OEM part online and took the car to a auto glass shop that had a good reputation. This method cost me about 30% of what the dealership quoted cost was.
Now if you are under warranty still, just drop it at the dealership and forget it.
