Quote: They have astonishingly little product knowledge. My 21 year old kid loves to go car shopping with me to watch me give the sales guy a demo of the car's features.

I had a sales guy insist that Agility on a non AirMatic C300 adjusted the suspension firmness.
You can say to the sales person, "Let's sign on the dotted line - If I am wrong, I am committed to paying MSRP on this car. If you are wrong, you have to sell the car to me at 25% discount. You get to sell a car either way. Deal?"

I def like that the C's have the engine graphics on screen that show the h.p. and torque figures live.

Do all new 16's have the double pane (acoustic) glass? Mine (early build 2016) has standard glass.

I believe acoustic glass is included with the HUD option. It's Code 851 and is no cost when HUD is selected. Not sure how much or how to get it as a stand alone.

I also sound-proofed all 4 doors interior panels while doing the audio upgrade. That plus ditching the run flats made the car very quiet, and that's coming from a 221.

A lot of 2016 Cs come with acoustic glass (both with and without the HUD option), but there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to how you can get them - almost like draw of the luck but even though yours doesn't come with the acoustic glass (are you sure?), I am sure you have seen this thread, which means if it is an issue, you can probably get them replaced for free.

I drove 3 different 2016s, mix of sport and base but none with HUD, and only 1 (with only 700miles) had acoustic glass.

I can't find that screen I think it's C450 only.

Mike you are a trooper, I know that sound proofing has made a big difference in how much quieter the car is. I feel like doors on the W205 are hollow which I guess is due to increased aluminum.

With regards to the acoustic windows, I've seen a handful of 2016s at the dealership both on the show room and in the service loaner dept. and they all had acoustic windows which is checked by looking for the "XI" on the glass. I thought it was standard now Weird that it's some kind of luck of the draw sh|t.

How big of a job is that? Where would I take it (stereo or trim shop or dealer)?

Recommended material?

Not bad, 4 door skins have to come off and Hushmat applied.

No that screen is available in the C300. It's in "Vehicle" and then Data.

I had acoustic glass come standard and the HUD option, but the HUD option (as I understand it) is rare enough on the lot, that I doubt that it's solely linked to that if there are more than one or two 2016s with it at the dealership.

Not available on the Audio 20. I just handed the loaner back and couldn't find Vehicle Data anywhere in the Vehicle Settings.

I just returned a '16 C300 (Sport) and that screen was avail in vehicle settings. Fun feature.
C300

Loaner

Notice the hp only goes up to 250.. so it's not a c450.

Another reason to get the Multimedia Package. Anyone not getting it and just going with the Audio20 is doing themselves a disservice.

15 don't have it unfortunately. I wish that when companies come out with new models, can they either wait more than a year to upgrade things? or just roll out the upgrades from the beginning.. its ridiculous. Another thing that the 16's have is the auto parking brake, mine does not have that. I mean come on

Such garbage. I'm sure it can be applied with a firmware update, but they likely wont do it.

I asked my dealer and they said no. He also said there is no maps update available, and my car is an august 14 build, how is that possible? almost 2 years and no update?

That's why in car navigation is for the birds. I'd only get the MM package for the screen and the updated COMAND but in car nav will always lag behind Google Maps and Waze. As I told another member here Google maps POI database is unparalleled by the time you enter an address in COMAND (or any in car nav) I've already Google Mapped it, read a review about and have selected the fastest route to get there, meanwhile on COMAND I'm still trying put in the zip code or city . Maps are updated regularly in both apps for FREE.

Version 5 of the maps is out but Mercedes Canada won't release it as an update. It is in the MY2016 cars however.
