C300 Coupe - MB USA is about to make me mad
So I ordered a C300 coupe with all options in early February. It was built and delivered to the VPC in early March and has been sitting there since. First they were going to ship in early April, then mid April, then 5/13 and probably some more missed dates that I'm forgetting. Now my dealer is getting coupes delivered that are not sold. They told me it was loaded on a truck this past Saturday 5/21 (I saw this on the screen with my own eyes.) Now it's going to be Friday or Saturday before it arrives. I have a hard time believing it's a 6-7 day trip between Georgia and Texas. Whoever is setting the delivery order on the cars needs to get a brain and ship the sold ones first.
Sorry for the vent, just very frustrated right now.

How and when M-B vehicles (and maybe other marques as well) are shipped is shrouded in mystery. I waited five months for my CLA 45 to be built, and I was notified by my sales rep. He then told me he would let me know when the car arrived in the US. Then as if by magic (and only a week or so later), not only had the vehicle arrived on the US shore, but was on a truck headed for the dealership. I got the email from the dealer saying, "Oh, by the way, your car will be here Friday." What? 10 days ago it was still in Europe! OK, super!
I agree that it would make much more sense to deliver the customer-ordered cars first. But, I imagine that they get loaded up on trucks by dealer location, truck routes and probably a dozen other variables. As long as you know it's on the way...

All I know is if I buy a $3 cat toy on Amazon I can practically track it hour by hour to my door. $60k Mercedes built eight hours away? Total mystery. I think it's Germans getting revenge for us keeping the Normandy invasion under wraps until D Day.
