New 450 instrument cluster additions

Can anyone shed some light on what we need to ask for when we go into Mercedes to get this update.

Wait..I don't have that screen on my US C450? Are you sure that vid is a c450 because the center cup holder cover said AMG on it and 450's don't have that only the 63's do? Or that's what I thought?

That was actually a good catch (it happened so fast), but looking closer it appears to be a sticker.

From C450 Video:

From C63/C63S Order Guide

Based on the actual instrument cluster, this does appear to be a C450 (non-US).

To get that screen would take an SCN coding of the instrument cluster module (basically the car is connected to the MB server and a request is made for the correct coding string for that module. If it is different, it will be updated and in the case of the instrument cluster, any new "screens" will be added).

The font is wrong on that sticker too. The G is too fat, the A isn't slanted like it should be, spacing between the lines on the left is wrong etc. Idk why people do this to themselves, just like the guy who put aftermarket garbage looking AMG door sills.

I just assume the people that do that look like this

Very curious to see if anyone figures this out. I would love to have a little boost bar in my instrument cluster haha

That video is from a c450 in Toronto. It's from the thread where the guy is having transmission problems and they updated his software to try and fix it.

Yes, and Cajun would like to know how to get the AMG screen featured in the video from the C450 in Toronto, where the guy is having transmission problems and they updated his software to try and fix it, added to his C450.

Are you replying to me?

I'm confirming for the few that are questioning if it's from a C450 or not.

Is there anything else I should know to tell them? I am taking the car in for service on Friday and hope I can get the update!

Im worry about this too. When i had my Genesis i asked my dealership service to do not update/flash my ECU, they gave me a paper to sign that i'm declining any ECU updates and i was good to go. Not sure if i can do the same with Mercedes…

Curious as to why you would not want to.

Nothing else would be affected with an SCN update to the cluster.

Because the ECU is flashed with OE tune. If dealership updates the ECU it will erase the OE tune flash.

No they said "The AMG menu in the instrument cluster is not available in the C450 in the USA market. I have two 2016 C450’s on the lot, neither of them have the AMG menu. The you tube video you sent Katie was posted by a user that appears to be in Toronto, Canada. Canadian vehicles often have slight differences from US market vehicles. MBUSA does not provide us with any information regarding Canadian market vehicles. SCN coding will not add or change features to your instrument cluster. I performed an SCN coding of your instrument cluster anyways, and it made no difference. The features your vehicle came with from the factory will not change.

Your vehicle has the latest Navigation software available. We have not received any new Navigation software from MBUSA for the 2016 C class. Additionally, we checked VeDoc to confirm your specific vehicle is equipped with the latest Navigation software available from MBUSA. I will be happy to save your contact information, and notify you as soon as an update becomes available to us"
